Hotel was really nice, food was good, location and rooms were also pretty good. However there isn't much at all in the town.

Old hotel. We got a room on the first floor of the old part, and we run out with fear that the ceiling will fall on us! So we got moved 3 stairs up. Still very old, but at least no cracks! Breakfast was good. That's it.

Overall great experience. Looks modern, with a touch of old from the original wooden structure. Great seaside view from our room.
Breakfast was nice, food was made continuously until 10.
There was charger for electric vehicles.
Walking to the Kristiansund city center took about half an hour, and was over a bridge with a great view of the city and the sea. It is just something to keep in mind if that would be troublesome.
The twin bed was great, but the sofa bed was utterly terrible. It was like sleeping on steel rods, which was not a good experience.
There was free Wi-Fi, but because of the walls the connection was spotty at best inside the rooms. The access points were in the hallway, and were really good, but just couldn't penetrate the walls well enough
The Wi-Fi and sofa bed are the only reason I can't give this hotel a five star rating, but I would still recommend staying here!response / report this review -

Very good hotel, pretty good location. Food was hit and miss - the beef a definite hit, the lamb a wayward miss (a very poor cut of meat, overdone)

The best location in Kristiansund – and excellent service!
Our room (237) in the old renovated part was spacious, clean and very comfortable with everything you need (see attached photos). Bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast is probably one the best hotel breakfast in Norway – healthy and very nicely presented (see attached photos). The restaurant has a very nice view looking over the harbour. You can also sit outside on the deck of the hotel where there is beautiful afternoon sun and amazing view of the water and boats coming in to Kristiansund.
The location is not in the centre of town but there is a small ferry boat which stops near the hotel and which operates during the daytime. For a small fee you can hop on and off to visit the four main islands of Kristiansund in just a few minutes.
In summary, Thon hotel Kristiansund is a very well run hotel offering a high standard of quality and service. I chose this hotel based on all the good TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed! We loved every moment of our stay and would highly recommend this place.

Attended a meeting with work at Thon Hotel. Great reseption, fantastic lunch meal and great service! Employe were always smiling.
