A wonderful place where you have access to lots of restaurants in one place. You can eat anything from a cheese sandwich to fish and chips to a Vietnamese Pho. There are also artisan coffee shops, good dessert options and you can buy products if you want to make your own dinner at home. I would love to have a place like this in my hometown!
Great place to visit! With restaurants (food court), groceries stores, baked goodies. Very authentic. Nice place to go on a date, creates a memorable and romantic experience. Lots of different types of cheese. There is restrooms upstairs. It is not that cheap though. Very laid back.
Mathallen (the food hall) is an amazing place right in the center of Vulkan. It is home to many of my favorite places to eat in Oslo. If you like cheese, spices, meat or beer (and more). You have come to the right place. Mathallen is also a short walk up the river from one of the most famous night clubs in Oslo: Blå. Surprisingly, for a place in Norway with amazing food, there are some low cost options available. Mathallen also has two sets of public restrooms (they are pretty good too). If you are using the city bikes in Oslo, there is a stop within a minute's walk.
Great selection, with a dozen different places to choose from. Fish, sushi, noodles, pizza, desserts all in one place. The butchering class taking apart a whole lamb in the middle of the seating area was a bit weird, but fascinating!
Some easy and good food. Service level is nearly at the right level for each shop. I could expect more attractive prices
Small kiosks and cafes offering a variety of food. Can be rented to set up your own kiosk too
This market is a must stop when in Oslo. So much great food. People seem really proud of the food that they serve out of here. The people here are friendly nice to talk to; very helpful- they answer any questions. They have a lot of different type of foods to try. The food tour makes a stop here to try some the food.
It is one of not many places in Oslo I like. I like it for both modern and a sort of industrial touch and a particular cozyness. One can find good food and drinks there
Great for tourists and locals. Not so crowded as the food hall in Copenhagen, but also a smaller selection. Pricey, but good food. Especially the duck confit sandwich is very good
Mathallen is a great place to visit for both tourists and locals. It's kind of like a modern food court. Great restaurants in the area. There is a real cool beer bar there which has a professional staff with lots of knowledge. There is seafood, asian, bakeries, and lots of other cool small stalls.
