Pretty fantastic how much fun you can have with a t-bar lift and a glacier. The piste bashers were doing a good job keeping everything in shape and it was skiable in mid August There were several international ski teams (slalom and freestyle) practicing which is testament to the quality of the place. Small, friendly and fun. The drive up there is spectacular too.
Is located on the northern part of the Folgefonna Glacier in the middle of Hardanger and Fjord Norway. It us your choice to ski the glacier, enjoying an unforgettable panorama of the fjord. Best summer ski, snowboarding, jumps, snow moguls, flips, twists etc.
Skying on a glacier in summer time! What can be better? :)
Hard to reach. Only 1 ski lift. Not for beginners. Road costs 100 to get up. Good slopes in the summer.
Nice place. Road costs 100NOK to go up.
Best ride of the season. Parks are good. Remember sunglasses and sunscreen.
+ nice ski slopes
+ next to the regular ski slopes there are lots of places with obstacles and ramps for advanced skiers
+ quality rental material
+ friendly staff
+ cafe makes custom orders
+ fairly priced
+ great views from the glacier and along the road there
- no places for absolute beginners to really practice before going down the slopes. Even the easiest, green slope ends with a fairly long, steep part
- no ski suit rental, so beginners will have to make due with what they have or spend a lot of money
- the road up the mountain is not in good condition everywhere
A place worth visiting in summer time. Cannot comment on the sking possibilities but just the drive there was awesome!
I didn't ski there but to walk around the site, on the mountain and find a high spot with cup of hot tee or coffee it's amazing with the view.
