  it's ok, but if you can choose, then choose Blue-ice caves instead. much more spectacular.

  Easy access. Well maintained path and road. In addition, shuttle service takes place from the parking lot, part of the road up, against payment. In the tourist season.

  A must-see if you are in the area. The walk up to the glacier is stunning, and if you're not up to the walk (which is not too strenuous) there are karts which will drive you to the top.
  
  I must say though that the amount which the glacier has receded is absolutely appalling. I visited in 2008 when the glacier reached the water, with large pieces of ice floating in the lake. I visited earlier this year, 8 years on, and the glacier is close to disappearing. It is the most visually-striking example of climate change I have ever seen, and I highly recommend a visit for this reason.

  The glacier and it's lake in front of the glacier are nice, but not the most beautifull I've seen during our travel through Norway.
  Down the valley (near the parking lot and hotel) we have seen signs showing pictures how the glacier has retreated over the years past. Sigh
  In the past it was much bigger en longer! You can clearly see what climate chance does to it!
  During the walk up, you see also signs on the road. Where the gletsjer was 200 years ago, 100 ago, etc. In the enda sign where the gletsjer should have been according to the math and predictions. Then you still have to walk a while to get close to the gletsjer. Sigh.
  Glacier was more beautifull in the past. Still nice to see, but more depressive nowadays to visit as it should have been in a perfect world!

  Great hike for the whole family. There are some steep bits, but the path up to the glacier is mostly flat and if you are in a hurry or you can't walk very well, there is the option to take small "troll" karts up to the glacier.

  Awesome this shrinking Glacier. Even more so if you see the effects of climate change on this glacier.
