Hotel Alexandra is a well established and professional venue for conferences. It has the size to cater to large events while located in a place that make the setting feel cozy. The food was mediocre for our event but that might not be the fault of the hotel any more than the host of the event. The dessert was one of the best I have ever had. There is a sky lift but it was closed due too high winds when I visited. Only negative point was that I had the feeling that the hotel has been careless with its cultural heritage leaving none of the historic buildings of the old hotel intact.
Comfortable rooms. Rich and tasty buffets. Lovely surroundings.
We came for recreation. It's an unique experience swimming in the heated outside pool and looking up the majestic mountains. Missing a star because we had to hire (!) towels also would be good to offer
some complimentary water / fruit? It's all in the details
Five stars seems generous, but Alexandra worked for me. Every staff member was attentive and pleasant, and the entire operation was pretty slick. The buffet dinner was a tad lacklustre, but a young barman made up for it later with his excellent knowledge and obvious passion for his job. The room was a spacious, light and modern option, but beware; my room was in a new spa building, but colleagues were in rooms in the original building that looked reminiscent of Alan Partridge's temporary accommodation. I won this time, so try to ensure you get those new rooms.
Amazing food and staff. The pool, spa, gym and playroom: 10/10. There is a beautiful park around the hotel and the location is superb.
