It was an awesome airport. Got high as F in the terminal followed by a rub down at the gate. Call Bas. He knows what's good
If you’re looking for a good rub down, ask for Bas at Gate D. He has big strong hands and knows how to use them.
Love how small it is and at the same time cozy . Very quick. Coffee good
Neat airport but there is no kids corner. In the summertime and at Christmas time when they ask you to be there 3 hours before your flight, it's VERY UNHANDY to wait 2 hours before a flight, with practically nothing to do for kids. There is just so much coloring one can do, and it would be a lot better for the kids to "move" their energies out before they also have to spend two hours in a confined space, motionless.
It is a fantastic airport, but there is no train or tram. There is a taxi but not the same. Access is poor for a Dutch country were trains are brilliant, come on Holland sort it out.
Just great to have an airport so close to home. Short waiting lines as well
Small airport: fast customs and not crowded, but takes a while to get here
More that half an hour wait at 6am to check the hand luggage. Badly organized lines, one going twice as quickly as the other. Better solution is to separate the lines at the very end.
Horrible if at all existing ventilation at the gates, it smells disgustingly like I am inside a fart that I can't escape :'-D
I wonder how people work here if it's crowded.
Pocket sized airport very quick through boarder, just behind the boarder posts are the two baggage belts serving in bound flights, short wait for bags, out the blue/green channel to exit in under five minuets Flying out quick check in at desks, departure lounge is just a few meters from the check in desk, through the security channel takes all of 10/15 minutes to reach the departure lounge from the check in desks. Departure lounge is very small but couple of places to eat and a duty free shop plus outside smoking area for those that still do.all in all excellent experience in both directions of travel.
This is a perfect small airport that has flights to and from several European cities, mostly done by low cost carriers. It's so much easier and more relaxed to travel through this airport compared to the huge national airport of Schiphol, which will cost you two our three hours of waiting time extra. Rotterdam inhabitants keep using the old name of this airport: Zestienhoven.
The airport itself is very efficient, with good atmosphere and friendly employees. However if you have a flight at 7.20am it is impossible to reach the airport with public transport and you have to take a taxi. I think an international airport has to have a connection with public transport at any time (when there are flights). I for sure will fly next time again from Schipol (if i have to fly that early). Otherwise it would be the perfect airport!
I know this is a small airport but there must be more seats on the airside. And there must be more buffet and more choices. The duty free shop is fairly good.
Outstanding interior design, comfortable couches and dimmed lighting create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.
Public transport is not ideal though (approx 20 min bus ride to Rotterdam Centraal).
