Can be daunting due to its size. Airport is part of a large shopping complex serviced by rail and bus. However directions are well placed and after a quick orientation, it becomes easy to navigate. Worth exploring even just to have a look around. However. I would recommend downloading a map to maximize your time if you're just passing through with some time to spare.

Not always as smooth ad expected. Sometimes have to wait in line to get checked in even if no baggage around 1 hour. Prices are decent and the selection of shops is good. The airport itself is very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable though!

Everything is clean and people are super nice a lot of places to rest bathrooms are super clean and overall was just a great experience. Staff was all super nice. I had a 11 hour layover and I stayed at the hotel hotel highly recommend it. Man this make me want to not just fly from here but now I want to actually visit the Netherlands 🇳🇱. Love it. Best airport currently! The views from all windows are immaculate, the place is constantly clean and being cleaned. Everything is easy to find and access because a lot of the workers understand and speak English themselves. I would highly recommend visiting this place although you may not understand the announcements, there are always English translations afterwards. The toilets (dotted all around the place)are extremely clean and modern giving the airport an amazing finish.

One of the largest airports in Europe. Beautiful stores, super market, cafes, souvenir shops. All very nice and accessible. All famous international brands are here. Airport information and train / railway info booth next door. Easy to find. Staff speaks English and sometimes also German or French.
Accessible toilets. The airport has wheelchairs available (coin operated) for those who cannot walk long distances.

As a person that travels on weekly basis, I can assure you that travelling via the Amsterdam airport is one of the best decisions you can make! It is a very modern airport with all kind of stores and cafes for you to enjoy your time while waiting for your flight. They also have super modern security machines that allows you to pass without taking out your liquids and electronics!! Lastly, the airport staff is very. Ice and attentive!

Very well planned and maintained airport with all of the necessary facilities.

Despite its size and tons of people to navigate around, it is super easy to find your way to anywhere you want to go to.

It has an amazing public transportation connection, especially easy to go on the train straight from the airport, no need to go outside even.

Personnel is very helpful, we were travelling with a 3 month old child and were allowed to skip a long waiting line and were allowed to take our child's necessary liquids, even though it was more than allowed.

Perfectly allocated direction and information on the boards. Entire structure is an amazing masterpiece.
I like the check in facilities here, it was fast, smooth and precise.
When it comes to staff behaviour this airport already surprised highest level of service facility.
Staffs are informative and taking care of you specially related documents while aiming passenger won't miss the flight.
Duty free store is also positive point here.
Seats allocation are done quite well even though it was rush there were enough place to keep all people while maintaining social distance.

I am a frequent flyer from Schiphol. Its truly one of the best airports of the world. Well connected with flights from all countries. Have descent shopping experience with lot of duty free goods. Easy accessibility with train, bus, taxi. Only thing i feel missing is a good Indian / Vegan food point.

I was very impressed with this airport when I traveled to Amsterdam. I came to the airport few hours early due to a mix up with flight details. so gave me lots of time to look around. Staff at the airport were very friendly. Not just the airport employees but the staff employed at the various shops and restaurants as well. There’s lots of options for eating and shopping if that’s how you pass time. There are also plenty of places to sit and relax as they have seating everywhere.

I had a connecting flight through this airport in the last week. The airport is clean, easy to navigate. Plenty of staff that were eager to help and answer questions. Got through pass port control quickly without delay. Really liked this airport. Flights were on time.

One of the better airports around. Been there many times. They have like a mall inside the airport. The shops are really great and not that overpriced. The cheese collection is awesome. So are the huge jelly beans containers. The airport is not that big compared to say Berlin or Heathrow, but it's like cozy. Really welcoming. Awesome management system. And. One more thing, Dutch are some really tall group of people!

Big airport and the Staff are helpful. Connected to the Train station so easy to get to Amsterdam Center. You can buy a travel pass at the airport station. A 3 day pass was 26 euros. I'd recommend getting the travel pass at your destination though as a 3 day pass in Amsterdam was only 17.
The food is also very expensive too it cost around 2.50 for a small coke at the MacDonald.
Is a modern Airport. We travelled with KLM and there was a machine/computer where you could print boarding passes at check.

Some of the signs here are false and lead to a wild goose chase.

For example, once you go through security you enter an area with a few shops and a couple of bars/restaurants. There is a sign pointing upstairs that says there are bars and restaurants up there. This is a lie - there is a private members only airport lounge up there and some toilets but nothing else. Don't waste your time going up the stairs looking for the bars and restaurants - BIG LIE!!!

When you leave this area there are big signs saying that there are no bars or restaurants or food and drink beyond this point - in the boarding gate area. THIS IS ALSO LIE - there are at least 2 bars that offer alcohol, coffee and snacks past that point at the boarding gate area!!!!!!!

So this is a nice airport in many ways but it would be nicer if the signs did not lie and mislead passengers.

Very average Airport & overcrowded on a sunday morning too. Don't wish to hazard a guess how chaotic it must be on weekdayscannot blame the staff however who are VERY helpful and cooperative in answering any questions or comments. The infrastructure of this saturated Airport needs strengthening, and rapid expansion is the way. This reviewer feels the railway stations in China and India are less crowded. Chaos personified has only got a 3 star rating because the staff are very helpful and genuine.

    Plus points:
    - Wonderful airport to do shopping
    - Clean, organized well and provides good information of flight schedule
    - Friendly and very helpful staffs

    Minus points:
    - Lack of washroom at Terminal 49, only 2 toilets in 1 female washroom. Causes a long queue.

PS: That's the only lack point, others things are great.

An airport with everything we need after a 7 hours flight. So far, we enjoyed our 8 hours (14 hours when we returned home) layover. Overall this airport provided us plenty of things to look around when we got a handful of hours before our next flight. Personally, I have a little bit of concern about the bathroom cleanliness and hygiene that need to be improved due to its status as a world class airport.

This airport has potential. But, I have never had such a negative experience in an airport before. Today was a disaster. I do want to say there was one lady who worked there who had helped me get through the crowd. She was an angel and I cannot thank her enough for helping me. She saved me maybe 2 hours worth of waiting.

The flight landed a bit early so I thought I was off to a good start. I was traveling alone with a baby in a stroller and my carry on. Everything was fine, even the long walk. It was okay despite having to walk more because of the stroller, wasting time waiting for the lifts, and constantly alternating between the first and second floors just to get to baggage claim. I don't understand why they don't have you just go up or down once?

Then you reach the part right before passport control. It's crowded, and no one is moving. It is also hot. Guards were just passing through with no explanation of what's happening. Mind you, I have this baby in a stroller and we just got off of a 7 hour flight. People are literally cutting in front because there's no sense of order and everyone's frustrated for waiting so long so they don't care if you have a baby with you.

My baby started crying, and he didn't stop when I took him out of the stroller. No one really stopped to help or cared except that one employee I mentioned earlier. I ended up crying with him despite trying to calm him down. I was hot, sleep deprived, and dealing with a fussy baby who hadn't slept in 3 hours.

This place lacks any organization or accommodation for people traveling with babies. I see accommodation for wheelchairs, so maybe they need to make a line for families with kids under 5.

Excellent airport. Always looking clean and we'll organized. The signs are well places and everything is easy to find. A bit busy at times but everything goes smoothly. Personnel is friendly and helpful. Lots of stores to buy cheap products. They do sometimes lack chairs for longer waits. Good parking garage nearby, and train and bus connections to all nearby large cities.

Hands down the best airport I've ever travelled to. Even for layovers it's great as there is plenty to do and it's easy to find a quiet corner for some relaxation if needed. The security experience is the most modern I've seen and I've found that the staff are extremely helpful.

More than an airport. it feels like a maze. You have to walk and walk, take stairs and then lifts, go up, down and up again. Probably the worst airport I have ever experienced and I got a few on my list

Back at Schipol and i must confirm my review. To be avoided

Make sure you get to the airport at least 3 hours before departure, even if you don't have to check in luggage! Schiphol was always my favourite airport, but the queues for security at Departures 1 are really becoming too much. It was an issue last summer, and you'd figure that all the drama and the negative press would prompt people to find a solution for this problem, but nothing has changed. Last week I had to wait in line for an hour! It has never caused me problems myself (knock on wood) apart from obviously the annoyance. But I don't care, the time I lose waiting in line I probably would have spent spending money in the airport shops, so whatever, their loss. However I have seen people almost losing it because they were about to miss a flight. I've seen people beg the staff to be let through first because their flights were about to leave, only to be told that there was nothing they could do. Air travel is stressful for a lot of people. There's no reason to make it worse, even if those people are "just" economy travelers. Do something about this!!!

Great airport for international transfers. Going from the US to India just was a walk to the gate. As long as you have the ticket already and your luggage was tagged for you final destination. Coming back from India we went through a security check which was very organized. Plus Delta had us check in with them again but we didn't have to get our checked luggage and go through customs. Left us more time to enjoy the nice dinning and shopping options.

By far the best security experience of any airport I've been to. Always fast, super friendly and efficient. The airport is clean and well looked after. Nice choice of restaurants and shops. The only thing that I do not like is the signage. The first few times I flew to and from Schiphol, I got lost. After a few times though, I easily find the way. Still though More clear signs would help, especially when heading towards baggage-pick-up in the main terminal.
