This place is well staffed well maintained and gorgeous. I should also mention that this place was so expansive and amazing to behold I had never felt so utterly defeated by the art and culture I was looking at. It was truly overwhelming. Plan to visit at LEAST twice if you don't have anything specific to see in the museum. I hope most earnestly to return.

Amazing museum with many floors of items to admire and observe. They have discounts for kids up to teens! Don’t miss the very bottom floors with models of old ships and knight armor! It literally takes the entire day if you want to see everything. But so worth it! Great activity on a rainy day!

Bought tickets directly from Museum and had a time slot which allowed half an hour each way, quick queue. Well worth spending a few hours here as there's lots to see and so interesting. Loved the Waterloo painting and the Night Watchman. Surprised that masks weren't mandatory but did find Amsterdam lacked a lot in this respect and now we have to quarantine in UK. Got back just in time. Cafe was great with lovely coffee and a great choice, and good social distancing. Beautiful building, well displayed and lovely gardens but the chairs were really uncomfortable there.

Love this museum. Great collection of few of the best Dutch painters. Corona proof. It was really quiet and I loved it! Good markings so you don't get lost and download the free app! Free audio guides/tours and a map. Ps. Only in Dutch.

Overall it's a nice museum. I love the first floor where the romantic and impressionistic works can be seen. Although I don't enjoy the top floor as much, just as I think the building does not suite the artworks there, the night wait is able to compensate for that. What a beautiful hall, leading up towards the museum's trophy.

Fantastic and huge museum with multiple floors dedicated to different time periods. Seems like it's never gonna end. Reserve a full day if you like art and want to get the best out of it. The ticket allows you to get in and out any number of times a day.

This is the gem of Amsterdam: the building itself is an architectural masterpiece and a delight to explore. The artwork from Dutch masters grasps Dutch culture in landscapes and portraits, and the magnificent masterpieces the span from floor to ceiling are well worth seeing.

Don't expect to be able to explore everything in a single visit. Inspect the floor plan, take the multimedia tour or plan ahead to pick and choose what you want to see in a few hours.

The Dutch museum card might be worth the €60 investment of you intend to visit a few of the other several hundred museums in the Netherlands that accept it, I recommend looking into it. It's available for purchase from the ticket office.

I was so impressed with the Rijksmuseum. Beautiful collection of both paintings and sculptures. Their Asian selection was very interesting. Make sure to spend the 5 EUR on the multimedia tour it triples the outcome of your visit.

I was underwhelmed by this museum. While I will not claim to be an art enthusiast I appreciate going to museums, reading up on various styles, and occasionally listening to a museum guide explain a work to a tour group. I’ve been to many art museums in the US and this was my third in Europe. Does it have the most famous works of art, no; but I knew that prior to visiting. Was it crowded? Yes, it’s a world famous art museum, that is to be expected. Is the artwork displayed well? Yes indeed.

My boyfriend and I went through in about an hour and a half. We saw the highlights as well as many pieces on the way to and from the big attractions. We also enjoyed the special exhibit area. But in the end I just didn’t feel like I got my money’s worth. Admission could be on a sliding scale like The Met (donation based on how much you think you should pay) or at least a reduced fee for people who come in late in the day. If they had the latter option I’d be more likely to recommend visiting to my friends.

Enjoyed my visit here today. Easy layout with plenty of virtual tours available. My only regret is not being able to spend more time visiting. I enjoyed the gift shop as it had a good selection of products.

The artwork was engaging and the building a work of art in itself. Even for someone who isn't particularly interested in the art world. The full scale battleship and cannons was a personal highlight. The Van Gogh part of the exhibit was another favourite which display artwork by him and his contemporaries.

My only minor gripe is no toilet being available once you leave the lobby. Coffee shop had OK coffee but wasn't expensive.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Great collection and well presented. Enjoyed the free audio tour very much. I recommend you take your own earphones so you can use the app and no have to pay to hire a set.

You need to allocate 1 day to spent in this Museum to fully appreciate the exhibit. The art pieces from Rembrandt is still in display (since 2015) and the other exhibits to fully explore. A library is here and a cafe is available for quick bite.

This is a fantastic museum that deserves a considerable amount of hours to be fully explored. The collection of Dutch masters is the main attraction, especially "The Night Watch". However, visitors should try to spend some time admiring the many decorative pieces found throughout the museum. The craftsmanship of many of these items is extraordinary and well worth a deep examination.

My only regret was spending only two hours at the Rijksmuseum. In my next visit to Amsterdam I will probably budget about four hours to explore the museum at a proper pace.

This is definitely a must-see in Amsterdam. The Rijksmuseum (ray-sh museum) has quite the variety of collections from ancient Korean pottery to modern British watercolor. The real treasure, of course, is the collection of Nordic artifacts mostly relating to the history of Amsterdam. If you want to see how these waterlogged souls managed to build a noteworthy city, you'll be able to read all about it from the wealth of information here.

Fantastic experience! I didn't expect such a relaxing atmosphere (having considerable experience with visiting large museums). This was surprisingly pleasant day-long activity, with amazing collection and wonderfully helpful staff. A must for Amsterdam visit. Highly recommended!
