I really like the neighbourhood, very close to the Rijks Museum and other cultural places of interest. Breakfast was good, and the rooms were clean and tidy and uncomplicated and only a short tram ride to the city centre.

Lovely staff. Very helpful. Clean rooms but terrible design. E.g. no hooks in bathroom. No privacy when having a no. 2. No problems for me but my wife couldn't use it. Good location.

The rooms are minimalist but we'll enough equiped with safe, hair dryer, TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is unusual: simply being glass panels around the facilities, not great for privacy as the walls don't reach the ceiling. The beds are comfortable and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a small problem with a smelly drain which the staff saw to immediately. Over all, not bad, would probably stay again. 3*

A very nice quaint little hotel which is very different but feels homely. Good spread of breakfast.It's in a nice neighbourhood which is uptown but there are no supermarkets close by. Some good restaurants are present in the vicinity

Super friendly and helpful staff, beautiful hotel. Breakfast in the morning was awesome! Everyone was willing to help you out with everything, especially when it came to sightseeing. The lady on the front desk was super helpful with directions, trams, places to go and things to see. Not too far away from the centre, but far enough to be nice and quiet. I would definitely come and stay again!

Really nice hotel with calm surroundings a little bit outside the centre of Amsterdam. The big park Vondelpark was just around the corner, perfect for morning walks! The staff was very service minded. The room and the cleaning had a good standard. We rented bikes from the hotel for 15€ / 24h, I can really recommend that.

Nice hotel, accomodating, nice staff that helped us a lot. We ended up with the wrong room on the first day and it got sorted pretty quickly. The breakfast is nice, staff polite. The only drawback was the smell in the bathroom and shower area in the morning, coming from the gutter bit. I did read about this but brushed it off, it certainly needs sorting because the smell is very unpleasant and the last thing you need is a stinking room when you've been out all day and return to the hotel.The location is about 3 miles from dam square, and tram stop can be found round the corner. Getting our head round the public transport probably saved us 100 euros
You can get the 2 right into dam square, and all the museum. Overall, pleasant experience.response / report this review -

The hotel has different buildings. The main building is terrible with old and dirty rooms. I complained as only new rooms were displayed on their website. They told me that we would have to upgrade to a superior room to get a modern one, but they did offer us a reasonable price increase to get the room. Once we got the new, clean and modern room, this hotel was very good! Very friendly staff too!

It was fine, the room was nice except the bathroom doesn't lock and is just 'in' your room. The breakfast was unlimited but it wasn't very good, and I don't generally eat high quality foods, but that was low quality meats

We got an unexpected upgrade because they had run out of the type of room we had booked. Tried to use the room service for breakfast but our order wasn't collected as per the instructions. The hotel staff not only accommodated us late in the day, but they also made it complimentary. Really great service!

Great location in upscale area away from tourists. Lots of local food options within walking distance. The park is directly behind the hotel and a great place to explore. The hotel itself is long overdue for a refresh. The rooms vary in size so definately ask about your room when you check in and upgrade if possible to the building next door to the main hotel as there a 3 buildings total.
