This place only stocks produce of high quality and that are grown naturally. They also have different types of bread, an assortment of cheese's and more. There are many outlets in the city, but this one is better than others. Staff friendliness varies, I guess depending on the season. All Marqt stores only accept cards. My card from abroad didn't work. :(
Kindof like whole foods of the Netherlands. Stuffs are slightly expensive than Albert Heijn, but they have different taste. Also, they have wide cheeese and bread 🍞 section.
I really don't like this place it's expensive to start with, which is the smaller problem.
The bigger issue is that they don't accept cash at all!
More than once I found myself standing there with 100 euro worth of shopping, in front of a confused cashier that was staring at my 100 euro note like a rabbit at a car's headlights.
They find it reasonable that you can't even pay for a loaf of bread without having a bank account, your card with you at all times, and of course have another useless line added to your bank statement, just to make it a bit more difficult to follow than it already is.
If you're a daily customer then you are rewarded with a few more pages of movements on your account at the end of each month as if we don't kill enough trees as it is. Pathetic if you ask me.
Beautiful supermarket. Great cheese, wine, bread
Great fresh food. Skip the rest go str8 to Marqt
Lovely shop. A little bit expensive if you are on budget but THE CHEAPEST PLACE where to buy TONY'S CHOCOLONELY! Definitely worth visit, even just for the interior, cheap Tonys and free tasting samples.
Good produce. Staff friendliness varies. Only accept cards. Mine didn't work. :(
Very nice little market, reminiscent of Whole Foods Market in the states. Prices are a little higher than other markets but they only take cards which is convenient for travelers.
If you're vegan, lactose intolerant, like food with "organic" written on the side or are in a never ending quest against gluten, this is the place for you. Bring your own beard.
A grocery shop that support sustainable farming, organic and local brands, etc.. Large choice of biological fruits and veggies, great French cheese and fresh fish 🐟!
Convenient location to run in and out quickly. Good, wide selection of organic &/or alternative products that you can't find in regular supermarkets. Fresh fruit & veg selection isn't too big, but the quality is reliable.
Nice but not cheap. Good choice of fresh fish though, which is not that easy to find in Amsterdam.
Weirdly located underground. Kind of an alternative supermarket-thingy. We just stopped by for some snacks. This is not the best place for that. I'm sure it's great if you're concerned about buying environmentally sustainable produce. We just wanted cookies.
