Nice location, very comfortable rooms, our room had a very nice view of the old Haarlem town, very nice overall.
In late October I stayed in the apartment 52 of Joops City Centre Hotel. There was a big problem with the heating system, I mean it didn't work at all and the temperature in the rooms was +16°C at our checking-in, all through the night and at 10 a.m. and +17°C at the time of our check-out. I was traveling with two small kids (1 and 3 y.o.) and we had to sleep and to have our breakfast in many-layered clothes. There is no reception in-house and you need to walk to Ambassador Hotel to check in. The evening shift of the Ambassador Hotel reception (Nikita) failed to ensure that the room is warm by the time of my check-in. Later I made two inquiries at night but the guy from the night shift at first told me that he turned on the heater and I need to wait 1 hour, but since the heating system didn't start working in 15 minutes, I asked him to come again and check it again, after this he told me that the heater will only start working at 6 a.m. according to timer. And (surprise-surprise) when we woke up at 9 a.m. the rooms were still cold.
To amend my dissatisfaction, the hotel management offered me a free upgrade for my next stay, but that's totally useless as I will stay away from this "family chain". Missing coffee maker (listed in the inventory list of the kitchenette) and spotty carpets in the corridor are really unimportant things after this experience.
Bad experience. Room is overpriced (£100/night) and basic . Cleaners do not do their job properly,"forgetting" to make the bed or clean the bathroom. The Hotel staff, the same as Ambassador Hotel, has no idea on how to reach out to clients. WiFi unusable. If you don't mind all these downfalls, the location is very good. The worst part is the impression that the staff and the direction could not care less. All in all, bad experience
It's OK to spend just one or two nights. The best is location.
Kind of a dumpy hotel but for about $80 a night I went for it. The toilet and shower are the same room and when you shower you will wet everything including the toilet. The queen bed is actually 2 small beds pushed together so you will fall into a hole in the middle of the night. Other than that the rooms are actually kind of big.
Great rooms, price, and an amazing shower. The WiFi could use better coverage though
Small hotel with not a good view. Room was clean and decent but toilet did not have a separation with the shower. It is in the city center which is quite convenient
Good hotel, lovely beds, very central. We had a room in another building but the main building, it was nice and quiet. We could hear the church bells, very lovely.
Very basic, low priced, don't expect service. Excellent located.
Stayed here for 2 nights in July, the hotel is linked with the Ambassador hotel (2 minutes walk away). We had two rooms, the first was a studio style flat that was dated and in need of a full refurb. The second was modern and matched our expectations. Would go back but would only accept the refurbished rooms.
Good value for money, very central.
We stay in this hotel for the second time ,its an excellent hotel in a excellent position in the centre of Haarlem ,. Staff is very kind ,we will return as soon as possible certainly!!
