Beautiful public spaces. Better in real life than in the pictures. So full of character and history. I chose the de lux room and asked for a room with a balcony . Initially I was given a corner room which only had a small balcony so I asked if I could swap for a room with a full balcony.
Loved Volendam, but it does get very busy at times and this room overlooking the water was the perfect place when I wanted to escape the crowds and look out over the sea.
Overall really happy with this hotel and glad I chose it. A few details could be improved and would upgrade this to a five star.
The bathrooms would be improved by adding better bath mats. The existing bath mats are very thin. It would also be great to have individual bottles of shower gel, shampoo and small bars of soap. Soft toilet paper would also be an improvement.
More attention to detail when servicing the room in the middle of guests stays would be appreciated for.example the beds were not made very well and the bins were not emptied. The box of tissues was empty and it would have been great to have had a refill
The hotel has no room service and I would have loved a tasty snack in the evening, such as a cheese taster board, or for,example, prawns with a chilli dip..
Having said all of the above, I would still choose this hotel again.
Fantastic hotel in Volendam if in the Netherlands it's the place you should stay
Amazing location. Amenities are good, sauna , pool are well maintained. Enjoyed the view from room and the location.
Nice hotel! Loved the pool and saunas. And the nice sunny terrace in the morning with a view on the lake was super!
Beautiful Location, Clean space and very good amenities
Public toilets are hard to find in Netherlands seaside towns. When my younger son and I were there in August 2014, the tour guide suggested we use the toilet of the hotel. We did use it and deposited a coin or two on a tipping plate to show our moral responsibility!
Beautiful hotel, great location in the best area of Volendam. Breakfast was good, friendly staff. Reasonable price. A bit noisy during the night, many bars playing loud music nearby. Parking space available for guests, but costs EUR5 per night not included in base price.
Great value, excellent location and friendly staff!
Nice place with Seaview. Furnishings and decorations like in a museum. Rooms a bit old but OK. Very recommended.
Roomnumber 203. Clean. Balcony with lake view. No airconditioning.Elevator.Friendly staff but not always efficient. Diner and breakfast good.
Great location with own parking. Decent breakfast with limited choice but good quality overall. Our room was in the old part with crooked floors which made for a very different and interesting experience. Modern bathroom, nice soft bed. The room was decorated with old furniture and lots of paintings and pictures. I would go there again and would recommend it to my friends.
We were 3 and we stayed for 2 days:
* 1st day we stayed in room 231: "family suit with see view"
* 2nd day in rooms 305, 307: "deluxe" with an opened door between the rooms;
Pros:
* a great view to the lake;
* they brought a kettle without reminding though not very quickly;
* the deluxe rooms had lots of room:)
* all the rooms had balconies; with see(lake) view;
Cons:
* the free WiFi connection was very bad - it disconnected every few minutes;
* some of the staff, especially receptionists were helpful only on the surface; but not going to great lengths to understand our needs when we were selecting a room to stay. They were not rude and answered most of the questions and fulfilled a request about kettle although.
* the first room we stayed (231) was quite old; the glass on some windows was broken; there was very little space on the first floor of the apartment;
Awesome atmosphere and delicious coffee. Haven't been to the actual hotel, but the café/bar downstairs is amazing and a must-see if you are a tourist!
