The breakfast was generous and a lot to choose from and our bed was comfy too little bit noisy at night from the clubbers. Overall a good hotel.

elevators are out of service. rooms are too old and un dirty. smelling like a toilet. this place doesn't deserve even one star.

Horrible!
The worst hotel I have ever been to.

Everything in this hotel from the floor up to the ceiling is actually broken or about 50 years old. The owners are indeed replacing things but only very few things have been replaced yet.
It stinks very strange in the rooms. Cleanliness is OK, but could be better.
The heating was on before we arrived, by then it was so hot in the room (and the light was broken) that I demanded for a different room. You can't turn the heating off, it stays on the whole night. Without an open window you soon have 30 degrees celcius inside the room.
The hallways are in the worst condition.

Eventhough it is right in the center, it it way I too expensive. We booked online and payed almost 80 euros for a single room - and the display in the hotel offered the room for 55 euros. Even 50 would be too expensive for this hotel.

Caters very much to the business client but friendly service none the less. Good clean room. Didn't use any facilities though as we just wanted a bed and a roof! When we return to Rotterdam in the future we will probably look for something a little more honey and quaint though.

A 2 star hotel at most. Aside from the great location and counter staff, everything else about this hotel is appalling. The hotel is poorly maintained. The room doors need to be slammed to close and footsteps on the floorboards in the corridor was loud, with poor sound proofing in the rooms. Non-smoking policy is NOT enforced although this is a non-smoking hotel. My room reeked of stale cigerette smell from the wardrobe (???) and also from the smelly toilet.

Do note that there's no air conditioning in this hotel, which is common in establishments in Holland. Old school water based heating system is installed in all rooms and corridors. Breakfast with simple spread of cold cuts, bread, cereal, Coffee and Tea starts late: 7am on weekdays and 9am on weekends. If you have paid for room with breakfast, you can ask for a lunch pack for takeaway if you need to leave before breakfast time. My lunch pack consisted of 4 buns with 2 x cold cuts and 2 x Cheeses, can of soft drink, candy bar and a fruit. Enough for breakfast and lunch.

Despite the above, I managed to survive one week as I have prepaid for the room without doing my research. To be fair to the hotel, you get what you pay for. Great location at a low price. Just be prepared for lower quality rooms and dont expect a Hilton.

It's an older hotel, it's still nice to stay at cause it's close to everything but it's older and smaller room. The breakfast was pretty good, lots of selection

It depend if you get the room with nice scenery, your dissatisfaction will be lesser. I got fourth floor with nice view to the street. However as a budget hotel (I think), the facilities are enough. The breakfasts are always the same. Complainings are not quickly responded. I complaining of a TV that is not working, may be because mispressed of the remote. So we can't enjoy TV on my last 2 weeks. But it is a historical hotel thatvcome from the beginning of 20 century that we must appreciated.

Location wise its great. When we stayed the heating was constantly on and couldn't be turned off. Not very clean and very outdated.

Arrived on Christmas Eve for a short break with family. Desperate for the toilet after the bus from the airport I used the public toilets downstairs, They smelled terrible, disgusting and unclean, holes in the wall and damaged decor.
The room; we had to change room because of such a loud humming noise, (we couldn't tell if this was coming from the internal elevator or heating) after moving two floors down to the opposite side of the hotel it was fine, but could still be heard 2 floors below the original room when we walked around.
Yes the room was smallish, but nothing wrong with that. Bathroom however could do with a replacement shower tray, which could just do with a paint job, it's clean but looks stained over many years of use lush! No extractor fan so the room/bathroom gets very hot.
Which brings me to the heating. Wow, I couldn't even change the radiator in the room which is constantly on full blast, the hallway outside the room is even worse. Ok, so a good solution is opening the windows right? Wrong. The windows open out into the void (hardly even a breeze) where the windows from all the rooms face, in the morning all I could smell for hours was cigarette smoke coming from a room two floors below. IT IS A NON SMOKING HOTEL. This highly irritated me..
Room wasn't cleaned one of the days even though we'd been out of the room all day, coming back late at night with no clean towels.
Went down to make a complaint this morning, they didn't seem bothered. Wifi is a pain, and disconnects every few minutes when it's inactive. Maybe this review is a warning to any British or in fact any travellers looking at this hotel. Otherwise the roads outside are quiet and is situated within a very short walking distance from the station. You have been warned!!
