From the initial greeting I was stared at but this I’m used to. Following up with ordering drinks all throughout the day I became known quickly but I tend to stay to myself.
I asked for help with laundry big mistake, they didn’t wash anything properly and still charged me, next time use the lady down the street, check.
If you are African American or English speaking and not of Nica decent expect to be outcasted as usual. Expect second rate treatment unless you’re accompanied by a local or someone of a lighter complexion.
Most people just give the side eye but in this case I was not perfect in my interactions, therefore the true colors of others showed.response / report this review -

My favorite place in Las Peñitas! Argentinean owners are quite friendly and the service stands up from other business around! Rooms are clean and comfy plus they have this new bar area which is perfect for sunsets and in my case got the luck to arrive when they had live music, but like really nice music! Locals playing covers or nice songs. If you're looking for a chill, calm, neat, food friendly and affordable place to go, this is your place to be!

I did not stay here-- but we enjoyed 2 days of drinking on the beach here. Nice place. IMHO best place to stay at penitas. Great drinks, nice atmosphere out back

I didn't stay here, just came for lunch and drinks. The food is awesome, great vegetarian options too. The drinks are delicious! Great vibe and cool people. Excellent spot right on the beach to watch those Pacific sunsets!

What a great vantage point to enjoy the Las Penitas beach. Short walk to other restaurants. Lovely hosts.

We booked an eco loft with a bathroom and a space to sit on the first floor and the bed on the second floor. A-ma-zing. We could see the sea threw our window. The hostel is also well situated : right on the beach and close to restaurants. They also have their own restaurant with good food but it's a bit expensive. The only big downside is the extremely low pressure of the shower. I would go back anyway :)

Beautiful spot on a nice clean beach. Lovely family running the lodge, with equally lovely staff. Looking forward to going back!

Great place! We had the Double Room - Eco Loft with ocean view and it was perfect with the double bed and mosquito net on the 2nd floor. Really friendly and helpful staff and a delicious breakfast right at the beach. I'd recommend it to anyone!
