  Clean place and the breakfast was fruits and coffee that were enough to satisfy us. The owner got us a key so that we can enter whenever we want. (And they have soft toilet paper!!)

  A surprisingly cultural experience!
  We had not booked anything when we came to Punche del Oro but was very welcomed by the friendly manager. He was fully booked in the main house but had dorm beds for us one block away. It turned out that thia was a room on the top floor of a Nicaraguan family's house. The family who lived there was very friendly and provided us with wifi, breakfast and a well equipped kitchen. We got a whole room with 4 beds for ourselves even tho we only paid for 2, which was 5$ per person/night.

  Basic hostel, nice and clean private room, kitchen is rather simple but definitely OK to cook a meal. Relatively far away from the city center but we really enjoyed the walk and there are plenty of cheap comedores around. Also, it is super quiet!! The owner isn't always around but he came to check in the evening and also we got his number so that we could text him anytime if we had a question etc. He was very friendly and welcoming and the communication via WhatsApp worked out fine for us. The breakfast was a cup of tasty coffee and a rich and plentiful plate of fruit.
  Definitively good value for money
