Some of tastiest waves I scored in Nicaragua right here, hung with locals and several others from all over the world.. it was crowdedwith seven guys out..not much else around but that's one of the many things that make it such a great spot. It turned on from flat to dumping spitting barrels and lasted for 2 hours then went quiet..worth the trip and the wait.

It is basically on the beach, food is mainly comfort food and beer. Wifi enabled, clean and staff are ready to serve. Nice day to spend and relax.

Since it's the only restaurant in the area, it doesn't have to serve great food. People will still eat it. I had the burger and it wasn't good, but I ate it because I was starving. Also.. no tacos?! Whyyyyy? Fairly expensive pricing as well.

Only restaurant at Playa Hermosa and it shows. The food is only as good as it has to be. When you're the only option, edible, is unfortunately good enough. I have never eaten any of their seafood options, mainly due to the heavily inflated prices and I don't typically want to eat a big meal while at the beach. What amazes me is that they don't have tacos on their menu. Nothing goes better with a day of surfing than some tacos.

Great relaxing place, very enjoyable to learn how to surf. Staff is really nice, Fredy at reception will help and advised you when needed and guys like Daniele at restaurant will always make sure you got everything you need. Lodge is very clean with spacious room and dorm.. Highly recommended!

A lovely beach, with good amenities. Friendly staff and busy but not crowded. Loads of palapas, hammocks and chairs. The restaurant was great - we had the pork ribs and they were fantastic.
Pay $3USD at the gate. Our Suzuki Alto was able to make the drive, though you will cross a dozen or so creeks to get to the beach. You'll need a 4x4 if going during rainy season.response / report this review -

Visited Playa Hermosa for a day, and it was wonderful. It’s not too busy and the waves were nice (from the beach anyways!) we had a great lunch at the restaurant- highly recommend the seafood share platter. It was fun to eat and delicious. The smoothie we good and fresh too - I tried every one while I was there. Service was quick and attentive as well. Well done.

This is one of the best place you can be in that region. The restaurant is right on Playa Hermosa beach. Food is good and the place is COOL to hang out. :)

The food was ok. The prices were overpriced. The ceviche was not good. I liked the sour vegetables. On the website they were saying that one cocktail was for free if you're staying in the hotel Hermosa. But they never heard of it. Eventually we got two free cocktails.

Good restaurant right on the beach. Good staff and service. The menu doesn't have a ton of options , but it's definitely sufficient. Prices are high but not outrageous. Overall I would say it was a good experience.

Really nice beach, great for surfing. Food is pricey relative to other places near San Juan, but the beach is what makes it worth it!
