We went a night tour for $45 for two of us from San Juan Del Sur. The guide picked us up around 9pm and we drove about 45min. We were at the beach about 2.5 hours. Our group was 10 people with 2 guides. There were some group before/after us but we had the beach alone more than 90% of time. Our group saved more than 50 of them.
I must say that it was an absolutely amazing experience to help those baby turtles to get to the sea. They are super adorable. We loved to feel their crawling in our hands. Be aware that you will actually see those babies who couldn't make to the ocean.. It teaches you how difficult their journey is and also how much you contribute.response / report this review -

Aquí se encontrará con cientos de tortugas recién nacidas, durante horas mantenidas en canasto para disfrute de los humanos. Te dejan llevarlas hasta el mar, pero ya ha pasado tanto tiempo de su nacimiento que no sobreviven, vas a encontrar otras miles muertas a la orilla por no haberlas dejado en su curso natural. Las tortugas apenas salidas de los huevos buscan desesperadamente el encuentro con el agua; allí las mantienen durante HORAS en canastos, ellas se cansan de trepar, cuando finalmente llega un turista, paga y la lleva a la orilla es muy tarde. Si ama la naturaleza, no vayan a éste lugar. TURISMO CONSCIENTE por favor.

We were very lucky and had a big group of turtles arriving in the night. Hundreds of them. We arrived around 8 o’clock and stayed for about an hour and a half with our guide. Be sure to bring red lights as normal lights are not allowed.
If you have time inform yourself whether it’s a good day for arrivals in the nearby cities (we did so in San Juan del sur)response / report this review -

Amazing. Rangers really looked after the turtles well being. The army was patrolling for egg poachers. Not all tourists understand the importance of leaving them alone, but rangers tried to make tourists show respect.

Guys please don't go there! All tourists are very disrespectful of turtles. I saw people holding eggs of mother turtle trying to lay eggs. Also out of 10 turtles that came to shore, 4 turned around and went back to sea because there were too many tourists with their lights scaring them.
Park rangers seem to not care a bit. If you love animals, leave them alone and respect their nesting ground and don't go thereresponse / report this review -

Es una playa virgen donde todos los años llegan miles de tortugas a desovar de junio a enero. La playa es bellísima y no hay ninguna casa ni edificio ni hotel. Lo malo es que no hay buenas condiciones para hacer camping. Lastima que no invierten. La seguridad muy buena ya que la cuida el ejército.
