  Gorgeous island in the heart of Nicaragua. Take the boat over and rent a scooter!! Be careful of the ferries over, I reccomend going to the very top deck first as they get overfilled and crowded with workers and tourists. Parked rental car in gated parking area at launching area and left there for 2 days and was fine. Scooted around the island seems the only way to go to experince it. Go kayaking for sunset!

  Ometepe Island is a mystical place formed by two Volcanoes. Volcan Maderas and Volcan Concepción. Its an ancestral place with invaluable petroglyphs of Nicaraguan native population. Its must visit place when you come to Nicaragua.

  simply put, phenomenal, from the people, to the places, to the relaxing vibes. if you love nature and want an escape from everything, this is it. no place else on Earth like it.

  One the places you should definitely visit while in Nicaragua! This island has a lot of to offer such as: local communities, nature, hikes, natural pools, beaches, bicycle and motorcycle rentals, volcanos, flora and fauna.
  Go and explore this island!
