Great food, great staff! It is a little bit far from activities so rent a scooter or 4 wheeler to experience the rest or, take chicken buses. Room was clean and enough space. Went there with a 9 month and 3 yrs old.

It was perfect! Thoughtful, the food was great. It had a real sense of connection to the community. I would highly recommend the horseback riding we really enjoyed the kayak rentals and the grounds really were very nice

Food and service have lost a lot of quality compared to previous years. But it's hard not to get back when you know the owner's commitment for the education of the children from the community. Most of the $ you spend here will go to the Ometepe Bilingual School targeted for free education of poor children from the surroundings.

We had the bungalow with view on the lake. Big room. Nice and helpful staff. Food good even if a bit pricy. Sunset is just amazing every day. Location is nice on the south island. 30dollars taxi from / to the ferry is a bit expensive to reach the hotel but it is worth it!

Hacienda Mérida is a beautiful and relaxing place. You can order your food here and book tours. The rooms are nice as well and the price is good for it!

Hacienda Merida is a beautiful place to stay and enjoy Ometepe Island. You are right on the lake with beautiful views of both volcanoes. The pier stretches far out into the lake and is a great place to jump into the lake or sit and watch the amazing sunsets every night. The food in the restaurant is natural, healthy, made in house, and incredibly delicious. The Hacienda also supports the amazing Ometepe Bilingual School right next door so you can feel good about spending your money here and supporting the local students and teachers.

Nice clean rooms with fan and shower for a good price! They also serve decent food. The staff is friendly and the owner is very nice and an interesting and proactive man who is very involved with the local community. Parking for motorcycles outside the rooms.

I took a group of college students studying abroad to Hacienda Mérida in fall 2011. We received fantastic service and the accommodations were great, especially for the price. Our hosts were exceptionally kind and friendly. I would definitely go back.

The restaurant is near the water at this very relaxed hostel, which supports a school and other programs for the community. Good, simple food and lots of practical information about the area if you need it (such as: do not walk around barefoot on the island because there is poop everywhere from all the animals). They also have kayak rentals. But no scooter rentals because, as it says on the wall, you will probably fall. I can't speak about the rooms as I only stayed for lunch and to read on the little dock, which has a great view of the volcano.
