Mucha historia
After reading in the Lonely Planet guide that it would be a good place to spend a couple of hours with many exhibits and descriptions in Spanish and English, this was very disappointing. We also expected to pay a small charge. There was no charge, very few exhibits and no English descriptions at all. We couldn't help wondering whether the majority of the exhibits had been taken elsewhere. It was hard to spend more than 15 mins, never mind 2 hours.
The museum is very small, it has a small room with some taxidermy, and a small room with pre-Columbian ceramics. There isn't much written info with the exhibits, and what there is is all in Spanish (not a complaint, I am aware it is a Spanish speaking country). There is also a library, I can't comment on the quality of the library as I'm not a Spanish speaker. It's a shame there is so little to see here as the building and grounds are very pleasant. We were surprised to find that we weren't charged for entry. We would have begrudged paying a lot as there isn't so much to see, however we would have been happy to pay a dollar or so, it seemed to us as though the place would benefit from extra funding.
