Good place, reasonable drink prices. We went on a Satuday night and a DJ was spinning mostly local music that wasn't my favorite but the locals were really enjoying it. Wish the volume were about 50% lower because it was difficult to have a conversation. Got frisked on the way in by the guy at the door.

Happy Hour from 2pm - 7pm which we enjoyed several times during our stay in San Juan del Sur. They also have happy hour on shots from 8pm till midnight. Good casual vibe that works very well as it is on the beach. Good service as well.

Been here a few times. It's always quite good for what it is. It's a bar with food. The drinks are good, food is great, music is good. Went for breakfast and that was great and the music was light, which is how I want my day to start.
Has TV's
On the beach, with some chairs and tables, on the sand.
Rock music during the day and night.
Upstairs bar too.

The service here is okay. But the food is terrible and extremely expensive. It’s over priced and and has no flavor. I ordered a sandwich with vegetables and cheese the sandwich was more bread then anything. My sister ordered wings and it wasn’t even fully cooked. The drinks are more water then anything. I would not suggest coming here. I was surprised to see that this restaurant has 4 stars. It should be 1.

Great service, excellent value at Happy Hour. Menu prices are reasonable and actually lower in price than most Beachfront Restaurants
This visit I only ordered HH wings which unfortunately were super crispy. But I should have known.
All in all Iguana Bar does it right

If the night life is for you in San Juan del sur then you will likely end up at the Iguana bar. Food is spot on and what you would expect from a bar and grill. Hamburgers chili cheese fries to great ceviche and other seafood dishes. A bit expensive but, that's what happens when you are the most popular club on the strip.

Beach bar and booze bar in the night. On two floors. Ladies night from Sunday to Thursday. Happy hour for cocktails till 7pm everyday. Nice terrace facing San Juan bay. VIP bar named The Black Pearl. Definitely worth of a visit or more. Busy on Friday and Saturday.

If you like lobster, get it here! You'll get 4 huge lobsters tails for a fantastic price. The restaurant is on the beach, so you can take six steps from the restaurant and you're in the beach.

However, only use local money (Cordobas). They have their own special exchange rate for dollars, and you'll end up paying more.

Would not eat here again. Overpriced, on the beach fair, and lack of good quality food. I had a very less than impressive shrimp soup. My father had a cheeseburger that he had to lift up the bun to see if there was even a hamburger patty under it. Barely. Service was acceptable however I wouldn't suggest wasting your time or money here. There are much better and less expensive restaurants to eat at in San Juan.

It's an average place not so different from other bars except that it is facing the ocean. It gets very crowded as it is one of the most popular places in the area.

Staff was ok, not great but not bad either. The food is very good though (I recommend the fish tacos or mixed tacos). Drinks are pretty cheap and plentiful. I recommend going there for sunset, and getting a table on the top floor terrace beachside. It makes for some pretty great pictures.

Pretty good food. No so good cocktails.
We felt a bit disappointed with the cocktails although they fixed it afterwards.
Food, on the other hand, was nice and the service was really nice.

The bar is beachfront and has a great view. However, they could definitely use friendlier staff. The waiters at the bar, especially during ladies nights, are not very happy to be serving you.
