Last night was our 3rd visit to Tanino’s on this vacation. We had the best anniversary dinner ever! I had lobster, and hubby had grilled fish. Everything was so fresh tasting. The staff here are the best. On other visits we had shrimp in wine sauce, grilled fish of the day, and the meat and cheese tray (which goes great with their extensive wine choices). Can’t wait to return next year!

Tanino's is the class of Puerto Morelos. Nice wine list, great food including good salads, friendly, professional service. Lovely garden setting often featuring gentle live music. Make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

just back from puerto morales and had 4 magnificent meals (different salads and different main courses each visit). the food and wait staff were as good as we could have expected. can not wait to go back next month

We made a point of going for drinks and dessert at Tanino's last night so we could listen to live jazz by "The Two" which was a highlight of our holiday last year. Sadly I must down grade my review from last year. I was not impressed with the new location. The garden does seem not have the same charm/romance as the old location. There is more covered seating (great for when it's raining, like last night) . But it creates a tunnel with terrible acoustics. I could hardly hear the duo from 20 feet away as general talk is magnified.
I realized this morning when looking back at my review from last year that the crepes we ordered, became a crepe (singular) this year (same$ less crepes is no bueno).response / report this review -

We went to Tanino's on the recommendation of our condo host for desert and drinks and loved the atmosphere so much we went back a few days later for dinner and was not disappointed. This is a hidden garden oasis that is so charming and romantic with soft lighting, great wine list and excellent food. We started with a Caesar salad that was perfect for two and very tasty. For entrees I had the surf and turf that had a NY steak that melted in your mouth and large shrimp grilled perfectly with just the right amount of garlic seasoning. Hubby had the grilled grouper that was moist and flaky. We finished by sharing the crepe (save room as this is not to be missed). Their presentation is one of the best I've ever seen, served to you on slate platters, so artistic. This is fine dinning in the heart of the Riviera. Try to go on Monday or Tuesday as they currently have live music by a wonderful duo call "The Two". Wonderful sublime singer and guitarist ( if you can't get there for dinner treat yourself to a glass of wine or cocktail and enjoy this great duo).

This is a very nice place. Beautiful courtyard full of plants. Their wine menu is the most complete in town. They have a wonderful Mexican Chardonnay. Quite a surprise. Food is good, still not as good as their wine. Good place for dinner after a day spent at the beach.
