We’ve spent the last two weeks here and found it to be the most beautiful all inclusive hotel we’ve visited. We celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary here and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We were served breakfast on our terrace, had a bottle of champagne served to us on the beach, and they decorated our room with rose petals, banners, and our hot tub filled and decorated with rose petals.all courtesy of our concierge J.D. He couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. We were greeted everyday with a friendly hello and if he didn’t see us when we left for the beach, he made sure to find us sometime during to dayjust to see if there was anything we needed. The room was beautiful and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job morning and evening. The restaurants were all fantastic and the wait staff superb. The grounds are stunningwell kept, and well lit. Some employees we’d like to recognize.our beach waiter Eric who was very attentive and efficientour pool waiter Hector who always had a kind wordand Jonas and David from the entertainment staff who made it a point each day to stop and talk and invite us to the day and evening events. Eddie, the beach concierge was always ready to get us set up every morning, and Carlos, the pool concierge, was equally efficient at the pool. These peopleall of the staffwork so hard to make your vacation unforgettable. We will definitely return for another memorable vacation. This resort is beyond 5 star!!!

My husband and I enjoyed out honeymoon here back in February! Our stay was absolutely amazing. The staff was wonderful, everyone had a smile on their face and really seemed to enjoy working there and meeting with the guest. The entertainment team was so fun and I enjoyed seeing them everyday. Our room was beautiful and it was the perfect amount of space for us. Food was wonderful at every restaurant. Take advantage of the kitchen tour, it was nice to see the behind the scenes. We were sad to leave, but hope to return again someday.

It was our first time staying at an all inclusive resort. The room was one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. With its in suite hot tub and another huge soaking tub on the patio. They took great attention in making sure we had everything we wanted. We didn't leave the resort for any excursions and didn't feel we needed too. We were only there 3 nights so I think we would have if we were there any longer. I would come back and stay for sure.

Looking for a Baby Moon? This resort is beautiful, clean, spacious and delicious food. The entertainment is superb!! The activity i loved the most was being able to snorkel with the sea turtles right on the private beach. Laying under our private straw umbrella hut was so relaxing. Drinking tasty drinks and having a plethora of snacks was fantastic!! My favorite , The fish Tacos are AMAZING !! Plenty of pools to lounge in as well. Spend some quality time with your partner here. The SPA !! all the amenities were clean, available and very enjoyable. Very relaxing, only down side is that it is over an hour from the airport.

My wife and I stayed there from 1/27/18 - 2/3/18.
The resort is beautiful, staff members were always maintaining the property and very friendly and accommodating.
The food was very good, especially the fish. Very delicious house wines and your drink of choice was always made well.
The pools were awesome, pool w/swim up bar was more lively, the pool nearest the spa was calm and relaxing and the third pool fell in between.
The beach was gorgeous, and the snorkeling was cool I saw a manta ray, barracuda, sea turtles and of course many colorful fish.
Lastly, entertainment exceeded expectations, a lot of fun.
I would highly recommend and will be returning very soon.response / report this review -

We are currently staying at Secrets Akumal and are a bit disappointed with the experience. We are regulars at AM resorts and after booking here, we decided to change our reservation a month before as we wanted a swim out room. After calling the resort a few times to upgrade, as we knew the chance would be slim upon check in, we were assured we would get the room we wanted. It was a bit confusing as we were told the first call we had to pay for the room and to call back during regular business hours the next day. The next day we called and were told we should pay at check in and notes were on file. Puzzled, I called the day after to confirm we did not have to pay to get our desired room. We checked in a few days ago we checked in, only to be told they were sold out and we could not get the room we wanted. They did offer us another room but at an extra cost. Overall the resort is great, but the service is not great. We had to switch rooms part way through our stay, at the time of the switch we had to explain again the situation which has put a damper on our vacation.

A group of six of us acscended upon the Cancun airport with no idea where Akumal was. A van ride and an 1 1/2 later we were ushered through a security gate into Paradise. As we were being checked in we were offered champagne, cookies and a cool wet towel. This was the beginning of a most wonderful vacation. The beach was lovely, calm, white sand, and lots of sea turtles. The service was excellent..shoutouts of appreciation to Gracie (guest services), Christian (concierge for our room) and Mariel (Sp?) (restaurant chef) who made sure we got VIP treatment at all our dinners. The wine pairing we attended was phenomenal. The room was airy and comfortable, just be careful of condensation building up on the floor when you leave the balcony door open. I can't wait to go back. We travelled with Apple Vacations and Lynn our agent was very professional,
knowledgeable and just great!

Secrets is one of the best all inclusive properties out there. This is our 3rd trip to a Secrets resort, all 3 different ones, and this one was the best of what was already something I couldn't describe on the first 2 visits. This resort in particular is absolutely gorgeous, very peaceful and the staff attention is top notch. All the food we ate was incredible, the spa was amazing, and I literally have nothing negative to say, this place is amazing.

One of the best resorts I've been to. The staff were friendly, helpful and really made the vacation that much better. Will be going back. Location has a fantastic beach along a reef good snorkeling. Three pools to fit all you needs, from swim up bar to quite lounging.

Just came back from there and this place is amazing and everything was higher than our expectations and better than what was promised to us.
The staff are the best of the best for the this type of atmosphere, very relaxed, professional, friendly and attentive. The food was perfect in every restaurant there and I don't think you could ask for more.
Thanks to everyone there that made this short trip perfect from the moment we arrived until check out.

This resort was so beautiful. My wife of 7 years and I spent a week on cloud nine. The staff was wonderful as well as the grounds. As soon as we arrived we were treated like no one else was there. We have a time share in Cabo and spent time in others parts of Mexico and hands down this place was special. Three pools we called "party pool", "popular pool" and the "Zen pool". We spent time at all three. No kids screaming, just friendly conversation with adults. My beautiful wife was stunning each night for dinner with great atmosphere. Great food and drinks. We will be back soon. 5 stars

So far, the resort has been amazing! It's beautiful, and really close to Akumal. We sprung for the beach bed, and it's been worth every penny. Food has been good! Drinks are pretty weak, but good if you get beer/wine/shots/etc.

The very few downsides have no influence on it's 5 star rating. The resort did not create mosquitoes. You're in a tropical place, mosquitos exist, they can't help that but they try. The food is just fine, though I preferred room service. The accommodations are the quality of paradise. Thank you sincerely to all the staff at Secrets Akumal. You went above and beyond more than once for myself and my husband. We will be back!

The spa is amazing!
The beach is amazing!
The entertainment is amazing!
You will never run out of stuff to do onsite. It is more couples aligned but they had multiple weddings while we were there so there was a bit of singles action available.
If you do the preferred club make sure to visit the spa. The amenities you get are amazing. I wish I would have used the hydrotherapy circuit everyday!
The vow renewal ceremony was breathtaking. The beach is so beautiful and having a sand ceremony there was very memorable.
Get to the Italian restaurant early if you like it or it fills up fast and can have long waits.response / report this review
