I am surprised by the quantity of poor reviews here! Hubby and I just visited last night and we had an amazing time. For those complaining about serving sizes being small, the menu clearly states that their intention is to serve small dishes so you can share and try many different things. That being said, I did not find the portions to be small at all. Also, as far as authentic Thai taste, my husband lived in Bangkok and we have also had Thai food many time in Thailand and also in the US (in big cities, where you'd expect to find authentic fare). For us, this restaurant ranks very highly. We tried the mojitos, som tom, panang curry, pineapple fried rice, tuna salad, and finished it off with mango sticky rice. All the dishes were delicious, if not a bit mild (but some extra dry chili on the side fixed that right up for our tastes). The atmosphere was awesome, very romantic and tropical. Service was very attentive, but to be fair the restaurant was fairly empty. The only reason we are giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that they don't give you the option of choosing your protein on most of the dishes - that said, you're in a beach town so shrimp are obviously gonna be on the menu. P.S. - to those worried about the poor dolphins - they are pretty pampered in this aquarium and seem very happy to me (the one I saw last night was floating about asleep - maybe that's why they seemed sad?). If you don't want to see them, don't sit at the bar.
TLDR - Yum, we will be back!!!
Great meal sitting over the lagoon watching the sun go down 5 star.. However, we finished with a drink at the bar watching 3 very sad dolfins going round and round in a large fishbowl - sorry but just not right
The best place ever!!! The food and design is incredible!! Loved it!!!
Good food and service, good place ,romantic night,if you like spicy food ,62# and 31# is good choice ,51# Padthai is good .
Sunday evening, party of 8, sat us right away with reservations. Had the end pier all to ourselves. Service was excellent. Food was perfect - each couple ordered their own appetizer, and main dish. At first thought portions were not enough, but glad we did not order more - portions were perfect. Recommend telling server you enjoy spicey to get full flavor of your meal. Will be back. $$$
The portions were small and not at all authentic Thai. The curry was bland and too much thickener. The pad Thai was overcooked. Very disappointed. We had other dishes too. Not worth mentioning. I have eaten Thai in Thailand and many many times in USA and this ranks at the bottom. It is rated a 2 because of nice location and quick service.
Good food (not as good as it was a few years ago), but it's really expensive for what you get.
Great location overlooking the lagoon. Food was reasonably good, but portion size small. We ordered bottled water, which seemed to confuse them greatly. The second bottle we ordered did not come until the meal was done. Fairly expensive for what you get, and they add in their own generous tip. Service was quite slow, and we noticed other tables complaining about the slow meal.
Great service incredible food. Prices were steep especially for the portion size. Never seen such small portions for a Thai restaurant.
Good food and nice environment but pricy.
Excellent restaurant. Can be pricey but the view on the water makes it worth it.
First, the food is sub par. The flavor of the Betong(?) curry dish I ordered just had salt added to it to make it taste like something. Secondly, when paying the bill, the staff were very insistent about their tip percentage. They scrutinized the amount we left at the end (15%) and then proceeded to give us looks while still finishing our drinks. And to top it all off, while leaving, we found the bar which profits off the cruelty of dolphins to be despicable. Will never go back.
Excellent food, The curries that my family and I had were pretty tasty. I would say that one dish can be share by two people. The place is a little bit pricier than other restaurants. The reason of 4 stars is due to the price and the lack of Thai Ice Tea.
