I'm not picky person and i love trying hole in the wall type of places. Sometime you will find a Gem and sometime NOT. This place is a NOT, it gets 1 star because there is no, '0' or "-" option. Food was not good at all. I order what they considered to be the house specialty. No bueno! but since taste and experiences are subjective and the last thing i want to do is hurt someone business. I encourage people try it a make your own opinions. this is just mine.
Hard to find as there is no sign at street level. But google is right. Go down the steps to dine with locals. Fresh shrimp and fish like Mexican home cooking. Get the fried banana. Cash only.
The best food in the southern hotel zone for sure. Walk past the "for show" restaurants where you pay for the illusion if good food and go to this place. Fresh seafood cooked in front of you with cold cervesas. You know its going to be good when the place is 90% locals , its in-expensive, and there is only 5 or 6 items on the menu!
Authentic family run. Tourists must be patient! All fresh off the boat, homemade. Order an extra round in advance and just wait. It's worth it. Seriously
We are at the Solymar hotel and saw reviews and realized it was just a short walk to get there. Just so everyone knows, there is no sign as shown in the photos so easy to miss. Just look for the gravel parking lot and head toward where you see the trees. There you will find the stairs leading down to the restaurant. This is as authentic Mexican as you can get. We had the fish tacos and they are terrific. Nice and crispy and great flavour. Super cheap prices and service was fine. don,t be turned off by its appearance.
Absolutely fantastic. I had a 600g Snapper with tortillas etc. The whole thing cost less than 400 pesos with drinks and a tip. I will be returningtomorrow. Why on earth do people eat at Bubba Gump?
Cheap &delicious foods. Specially fish taco was so good. And cheviche is also fresh.
Wonderful fish at a great price. You can pick your fish from the morning catch, cleaned and prepared the way you like. Fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Cool cool chill local real Mexican food in a rustic lagoon side restaurant. Most ethnic local place I found on the water side of Cancun. The prices are cheap cheap by American standards. The ceviche is 135 pesos ($6-7) for a huge plate of fresh seafood. 3 fish tacos are half that price. The fish tacos are diced fish and then deep fried. Never had them that way before. Don't expect fancy. This is the opposite of fancy. Definitely the kind of place I seek out when in Mexico.
Great and authentic Mexican food. You can't go wrong here. A hidden gem. Friendly service.
Don't come late they close at 7 PM.
Great place with a local feel. The food is amazing, fish tacos the best. waitress very friendly.
The food was great. Do not spend US dollars here, they will inflate the prices and pull the old white American routine, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I highly recommend using pesos. Or going to KM19.5 a little south down the road.
Amazing fish tacos! I'd recommend getting at least 4 per person in addition to another dish. The whole restaurant is just some tables under an open-air hut. There was also a resident guitarist serenading each table. At least one waiter speaks English.
