For what you need i think its ideal, front desk staff isnt the friendliest, but great bar and cozy room. loved the howler monkeys in the morning! Perfect for visiting Palenque as it is the closest place of any kind that you can stay at near the ruins

Decent place. Walkable distance from the ruins but it is an uphill climb to reach the ruins and the forest. Restaurant is OK.

Nice place ,good crew, food good , swimming pool included , live music . I stay 4 nights and is the closest to the ruins of palenque , by feet 5 /10 minutes.. What do you want more ? Un Lucano ?

Great resting place for hikers: all budgets, free swimming pool, great fresh food, perfectly integrated in the "jungle"; would certainly stay here again!

Beautiful gardens and pool area, very close to the the national park. Clean and simple rooms, good inexpensive menu and well stocked bar.

Great cabanas, nice food, great place to stay. Short walk to the ruins. You can also rent a Hammock to sleep in for the night if your budget doesn't stretch to a cabana!

Close proximity to the Ruins, on site bar, live music and good food. MayaBell always has an array of people staying at their camp--always an adventure and by far one of the best places I have put my hammock.

Very close to ruins !! Pretty much walkable to the bottom gate or a cheap collectivo to the top. Restaurant food was okay some meals better than others. Pool is nice and you can watch the monkeys in the trees.

I camped here for a few days hoping for a nice quiet jungle experience, but the restaurant had a band play every single night I was there. Don't get me wrong, the band was great and typically I would have appreciated them. I went camping in the jungle for peace and quiet and jungles noises, not to see the same band play the exact same line up every single night. The music was so loud it I could feel the vibrations in the shelter near me. I could not go to sleep early and in fact left the camp ground much earlier than planned due to this. Otherwise, it's a cute little place with hot water. I saw lots of monkeys and other wildlife. There is a full bar and restaurant, though breakfast is not included. The WiFi is not great. The food at the restaurant was about double the price you pay in town, too. I will likely not be back and will try something different in the area next time.
