Everything you need, great price. The beds are quite firm, the internet is spotty at best and the basic room has no tv. But the pool is nice and your right in the heart of everything. Wabo Cabo is around the corner, the docks are down the road. If the room is just a room go for it.
The staff is great.

Mar de Cortez is the perfect, laid back, Mexico experience. The rooms are comfortable, but basic. The location is 5 stars, walking distance to everything. Never disappoints as a vacation that doesn't leave you feeling like you have spent too much.

Hotel shows it's age but it is charming. Rooms, grounds and pool we're all clean. Beds were very comfortable and AC worked great. Great price for downtown Cabo. Only 4 stars because wifi was bad - slow and keeps disconnecting.

Right in the middle of town. If you are looking for a place that is not part of the party scene then stay here. Cozy, and quaint. Staff is extremely helpful and polite. Rooms are dated, but clan and comfortable. The pool is the center of the courtyard and is the hang out. The bar/restaurant is right next to pool. They have great drinks an food. WiFi is not the best, but your on vacation.

Great location, reception speaks excellent English and the poo is nice. Make sure you book using a website, $50 online $110 for walk-in. Rooms are very basic, but have AC, shower and toilet. I would stay there again for sure.

I have stayed at the Mar De Cortez for years.
On my current stay I encountered a man and what appeared to be a prostitute having a conversation on my patio. They were asked to leave. They did not & two more people joined them on my patio. I called security & gave them 5 minutes to leave. They did not. I was forced to evict them myself as security was standing by watching.
I will never stay in this hotel again.
Mat Dr Cortez has let me down. Never again.

What a great hotel. This is our second time staying here and it was just as nice as the first. Friendly helpful staff, pool is nice and grounds are always kept up. Location is awesome, walking is easy and just a short distance to the marina and shops.

This is were I stay when I visit Cabo San Lucas. While it's not the fanciest
location to stay at it's very reasonably priced and is one of the oldest places to stay in Cabo San Lucas. The location has a small pool and bar area and is very close too everything in Cabo San Lucas you would want too visit. The rooms area small but clean and the staff are very friendly.
For me as a scuba diver/outdoors person, a person who doesn't go too Cabo San Lucas to hang out at a Hotel. this the best place too stay.

After coming here for years you would think they would improve the internet. It is the worst ever. The hotel says wifi. Ya right. Two cans and a string work better.
Seriously terrible.
The toilet in our room doesn't work. The toilet is not connected to the floor. No light outside our door. Not happy at all.

No TV, it's close to Marina and has a good restaurant, if you ask for a TV it's 15 dollars extra per night.

Terrific place to stay, great value. the hotel staff is exceptionally honest, as we accidentally threw away our American currency after checking out. the hotel refunded it back to me (NO JOKE). Great location, lots of terrific restaurants nearby.

Visited Cabo a couple years ago with a group of 7 people. We stayed up stairs and the rooms were fair, but clean and comfortable. One of our friends stayed downstairs in the old part of the hotel and his room was amazing and gorgeous! Beautiful, hand carved furniture, wood beams and paintings on the ceiling, and a patio with table and chairs. I recommend asking for a room downstairs. The staff was very friendly (2 years ago). Maggie was very nice and gave us lots of advice on where to go and what to do. We even ran into her somewhere else and she came up to us and talked to us and was very nice. The location is very Central and around the corner from Cabo Wabo. Down the street was our favorite taco shop, Tacos Gus, and a fruit stand out front where I purchased my breakfast every morning. We stayed here for $30 per night in May. Nice little pool too. Also, felt very safe with the "Govenor" watching over us.

The location is great! Right in the middle of town right by all the fun restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, the price has increased in the last couple years but the service and friendliness of the staff has declined. There are times where I haven't felt welcome at the bar and have felt like I was an inconvenience when asking for fresh towels, hair dryer, etc. This is our 3rd time staying here, but may not stay again if they don't improve their staff attitude.

Central location, looked pretty good, had a pool that people used but we didn't, it was cold weather in February.

There's a restaurant downstairs that was reasonable.

The deadbolt on our door didn't work though cause the keyhole was malformed.

Love this place!! Clean rooms, great location, happy hour twice daily. Great service. Cute pool, they do need more pool chairs. It is a hidden gem!! Tons of return visitors, and we are one of them. Friendly. Walk to everything.

Most the hotel staff was friendly, the rooms were a little dated, but I wasn't expecting much. It would have been nice if my bed comforter wasn't made of an irritating material. Hotel food wasn't bad, and was reasonably priced so that was a plus. My biggest complaint is the area, it's real close to a lot of popular food and drink destinations, but it's not 100% safe. I was mugged around the corner of the hotel, within site of the hotel, after refusing to buy illegal narcotics from a petty thug outside the hotel, in which there were many of near the hotel. I found it impossible to leave the grounds for almost any length of time without being offered something illegal. It drove me crazy and when I got mouthy with a guy, I got thrown into a wall and had my life threatened. Please be careful if you go out at night, and travel in groups.

This place is right on a busy main street but is amazingly quiet. The location puts you within a short walk of some very good eateries. In fact, one of the best hamburgers i have ever had is served right here at the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you are honeymooning or have a young family, you'll like this place.

Located right in the city which was a plus, however our room we paid for was unavailable on check-in so we moved to three different rooms in 4 days. The beds we rock hard with no consistency in pillows, dead cockroaches in two of the rooms, water pressure inconsistent in showers. Front desk was not accommodating when they screwed up our reservation, we were on the same block as 4 pharmacy's, 2 massage parlors, and some liquor stores If you like that kind of thing. T.V. But no remote. The positives were the restaurant was decently good, the ground were nicely groomed, and the pool/chairs were great. I almost would have preferred to sleep on them. Also a nice cozy relaxation room, a cheap trip in an equally cheap hotel.
