La atención solo se podría calificar como de primera, aún cuando tuvimos que ir a urgencias en medio de la noche. El personal se mostró atento y muy rápido haciendo todos los exámenes. Aún sin importar que éramos turistas, nos hicieron sentir como en casa, hasta el momento donde pudimos reunirnos con el médico de turno.

Have been to Hospitin for both ENT appts and Orthopedic appts both Dr’s were excellent. You get a locals discount when showing a locals ID card. I don’t blame them for asking tourists for a credit card up front. They cannot bill you later or come after you like they do in the US if you don’t pay.response / report this review -

We weren't told this was a private hospital as it was labelled as a general hospital. I requested a change from Google as this is in fact a private hospital.
Very disappointed in the prices. Coming from Europe's most expensive country I even found this to be tripple the rate of what it is back home even a private hospital. Cost 480USD for a rabies shot(truly shocked as private hospitals in Europe don't even cost that much for 1 shot). I would advise going to "costamed" instead it's only a few min drive from this hospital with same quality service.
Second visit cost 120USD for a second shot. Was expecting 50usd as this is the cost for vaccines in Europe.response / report this review -

I would give this place less than a 1 star if possible. $6k to just walk in on my credit card. This is more like a clinic. Not a hospital! My husband had cardiac arrest while in Mexico and was taken here. It's one of the worst experiences I've ever had. There was 1 Dr there! They had to call for a cardiologist and it took 20 minutes for this guy to come to the hospital. He strolled in like he was getting a cup of coffee. I had to demand they get him out of this place and take him to a bigger facility! He needed to get a cath procedure to see if he had any arterial blockage. This place had NOTHING! It's the lowest of the low in regard to medical care. No technology, not cath lab, no nada!
They would not transport my husband until the cardiologist arrived. They would not let me go back to see my husband. The only thing the Dr. did was show me my husbands EKG which appeared to show a heart attack.
This is way way way below standard of care facility. Don't even think about coming here if you have a choice. Demand they take you to a larger hospital in Cancun. Also, be ready to spend a boat load of money. You have no choice. They are crooks.response / report this review -

My wife was admitted for severe diarrhea vomiting and high fever. She was misdiagnosed with rotavirus and suffered for days. Once back in the United States we discovered she had e coli and could have been treated with antibiotics. $5000.00 bill and no help. Do not get sick in Mexico

We were referred to this hospital by the doctor at family club grand Riviera princess. The hospital wanted $980 us dollars for 1 to 2 stiches on my 6 year old chin. Good thing we had a rental car and left. We ended up at the local general hospital, not the most clean or modern of course but they did the job that was needed, were efficient and all for about $10 dollars. Just be ready for the long wait.

Total scam. 1100 USD for a simple lightly strained ankle. Also wanted to sell me a boot separately for 371 usd which was 40 usd on amazon (incl shipping)

Run like the devil is after you, unless you are dying! They rape your credit card. And if a resort sends you via tax, expect to be raped again by a taxi driver returning you to resort and charging you for stopping at pharmacy. I broke my wrist and they put a cast on a newly broke bone. I almost lost the use of my hand because the swelling was still expanding. Oh just found out I had two broke bones not just one!

If you're a tourist and you have options stay away. My 2 year old has strep. By the advice of the doctor at our resort we came for a test so we could get antibiotics. Rapid test was done around 1am Still waiting on results 2 hours later. I feel like they are dragging it out so that my $2000 deposit gets used up.
Update : another half hour has gone by. Pediatrician finally came in and reeked like cigarettes and was super rude. Still not impressed. Let's see what the bill looks like.response / report this review -

Please please run away from this scam..my 2and half year son got sick and ambulance dropped my wife, kid and myself to this hospital.my son had a fever and Dr asked us to stay overnight to observe himwe understand and we agreed to stay overnight and shifted to private room.
My wife keep on asking again and again why our son getting fever up and down.they did all the test but stupid Dr had no clue or he wanted to make more money to keep us there for 2 days so they can make lots of money. Eventually after 36 hours my wife figured out that our son had hand, foot and mouth viral infection.
Second day Dr came in the evening and said we can go back to the hotel morning but he came morning and said it would be good idea if we can keep him for another day and I got really angry and said we want to leave but he was refusing. I asked why we can't leave and he did not give me any answer.
Our total bill was $6000USA for 36 hours.this hospital just a money making place.please please run away from this hospital.
They will not take you in until you give your credit card information on arrival. I am so so lucky that my insurance company was so prompt and they send the guarantee paper to hospital. I swear to god this hospital is one of the worst experienced I ever had in my life. I am so glad we forcefully left that place in the morning and my kid was feeling much better after that.response / report this review -

Worst hospital iv ever been to . Ambulance staff although seemed nice, had to communicate through writing things down on there phone , and the lady behind the front desk is the rudest person iv ever met in my life . Wouldn't see to my partner without handing over 2000 dollars straight away , and when explained my bank card was at my hotel , was just told 'get a taxi or get to another hospital ' its was 3am and I had 2 small children with me !!!! How does she even have a job there !!! Needs sacking or training in people skills !!

Recently was seen by 2 doctors when on PDC with a foot laceration and infection. The Hotel doctor worked for this Hospital and directed me there. All in all it was a OK experience took about 4 hours to see a specialist get a blood test and then get antibiotics but seemed to be an experience very similar to what you might get at a US hospital or urgent care. The prices you pay are in USD and your credit card is hit with a $2000 deposit when you get admitted. My total bill seeing three doctors and blood work and anti bionics would have been much more in the USA. The 2 doctors spoke good english and seemed to understand my condition. My only issue was the nurse set my IV drip in 1 hour before they began to administer the IV anti-biotic .. which after an hour of a needle in my hand started to hurt. The hospital was clean as far as I could tell. My issue was small compared to some of the other tourists who slipped fell or injured themselves total cost was around $650 which insurance once in the USA covered. You really have 3 choices in PDC one being the public hospital which probably does a fine job. Would have been nice after I paid for at least the admin billing clerk to say hey hope you feel better. Upon returning the anti bionics that the hospital gave me were correct and my doctor here in the US would have prescribed the same course of medication.

OMG.Despite your emergency room needs please, please read this before letting a taxi driver drop you off here. I think the resort I stayed at the Occidental Grand is getting kick backs as I asked the driver in Spanish to not go to a tourist hospital. Specifically. However, despite my demands to the driver this is exactly what this hospital is. And remember too that the bellman at our resort talked to him before we got in the cab. Why? I know why.
Since there is a guard and drop barrier who monitors all taxis entering I'm sure they are told if they ever want to answer a call to get in again to the property they better take the guests to this corporately owned by a concern from Spain which coincidentally lo and beholdso is the Occidental Grand and many other resorts in the area. Cahoots? You betcha!
I know what the costs of quality medical care are in Mexico and Hospiten charges just a little below what it would cost in the US.
You are hit by a serious looking money woman upon entry who tells you that it is a "private" hospital and they will hit your credit card in advance for $2000.00. Now for $2000.00 in Mexico a woman can get a tummy tuck in Guadalajara with the best plastic surgeon, hospital stay and aftercare.
For the final charge of around $2400. I received for my young adult son with acute pain from a undetected beforehand kidney stone who received: x-rays, ultrasound and a CT scan. Fluids with pain killers, an insulting to me when I was answering my in distress adult son's past medical history to a young English speaking doctor who questioned my son as to why I was answering his medical history instead of him. Then asked him if he was married or had a girlfriend. And when my son saidnot at this timethe smug jerk of a doctor said: I bet that's why.
I was floored by the insult to us both. I had just paid beau coup dollars to be insulted!
Why did I answer those questions? I'm his mother that's why. Who better than I know the answer to those questions. With my son's blood pressure sky high from his pain and vomiting constantlywhy did that jerk of a doctor care that I answered for him? Didn't he want full history from the time he was born? Surgeries conditions before his recollection as an adultblah blah blah.
I certainly didn't answer any questions when it came to the doctor asking about his pain.
Then icing on the cake of this scam: an on duty gastroenterologist was called in for the extra charge of $245. for just being a specialist to tell us they wanted to keep him for a couple of days to keep up his fluids. Again. I bet so you creeps! Imagine the rack up on charges for that when a bottle of coconut water would do the same once I threw some powdered ginger down his throat to calm his nausea that I bought at the supermarket across the street.
You know it's like being pregnant and calling in a cardiologist to give medical advice. Thank the stars aboveI knew a urologist in Guadalajara that was on the phone with me within minutes to advise me once we found out it was a kidney stone. We returned to the states the next day with medications he prescribed to ease his symptoms.
After talking to the Guadalajara specialist we left against advice from their what should be criminal bastion of medical care.
Never ever will we visit the Yucatan again and have anything to do with anything owned by a company that's buying up the area from Spain.

The Doctor - a Radiologist - was excellent. Top notch. The facilities are on at least US standards or better. The charges however were excessive and the front desk staff obnoxious. We attempted to find the cost before an ultrasound was performed, but they pushed aside our request. We were then charged $350 which is several times over the going price in Mexico. I would suggest Costamed. The doctors there were equally excellent, the facility and the staff were very good. Use Hospital if money is no issue and you want a beautiful facility. Use Costamed if quality and reasonable cost is what you want.

Took great care of me when I took a fall and cut my elbow. I'm glad there was a clean, modern, english speaking facility like this right near Riviera Maya.
Yes it's expensive if you pay out of pocket - it's a business not a charity. Get travelers insurance or go to a cheaper clinic - don't go to this place then complain about the prices. You decide where you get treated.
The doctor that treated me had outstanding bedside manners and patient care skills. Great communication skills and made the entire process very reassuring. He set me up with very clear follow-up care steps and post-op treatment.
Would strongly recommend for anyone with travelers insurance or the means to afford better private care like this clinic.response / report this review
