Beware there is a dog that sniffs your bags when you come off the boat but otherwise it's very simple to get into the country from the cruise ship. Very clean and friendly and nice shopping area.

My wife and I stopped here as part of our Carnival cruise. We went to the ATM straight back past Three Amigos and near Silver Emporium.

What was shocking to see was a $30 (or 10%) charge for what appeared on the ATM screen as a currency exchange fee. But what is worse* han that, is that as I am reconciling my bank account, I am charged even more than what was agreed upon on the receipt. I feel like I am the victim of corruption - Mexican style.

This was our second time to visit this port in 7 months. My husband and I both enjoyed the area. Our first visit my husband bought a small bottle of vanilla at Los Cinco Soles and fell in love with it, we ended up going back and buying 2 liters this time. Hopefully this will last us until we go back. Haha
The only issue we have here are some of the guys sitting outside the shops are very pushy to get you the visit their store, some even get pretty nasty if you refuse to go in. Other than that it's a nice place to check out the stores or even grab a taxi and visit some of the other places around town.

Not real thrilled with cozumel. Avoid the taxi service and book an excursion. Went to chakanaab and got a taxi. I walked away with my daughter to get in line for the park, the driver told my husband that it was $12 for the trip, but if we pay $21 we will prepay the round trip. I would have told my husband NO. NEVER PREPAY ANYTHING. But he did not know, it was our first stop on a cruise and his first time in a foreign country. We ended up having to pay for our return trip which was the same, also $12, so in total $35 for a couple miles one way and a couple miles back. Even at $24 that's steep, way more than an American taxi or Uber. On top of this we tried to explain this to the head guy and got nowhere. Not cool. Personally I would avoid cozumel. The snorkeling is all used up, the beaches are not that great, they lack a true culture, and the locals will take you at any chance possible. Go to somewhere like Belize, the people are so friendly and the scenery is much nicer!

Excellent terminal that makes it a breeze for vacationers to come and go. They could use some more sprucing up to look more grand. The surrounding areas around the terminal could use some cleaning.

Our destination from the Key West Island, FL. We went on a snorkeling excursion which I enjoyed very much. Highly recommended tourist attraction sites for everybody.

Don't be afraid to negotiate with these guys. If you overpay it's your fault. In the states we don't negotiate the price of anything, if they say 20 you say 10 then work it out. Pay what you're comfortable paying, no more, if you don't want to pay the price, walk away and it will get better. BTW don't drink the water.

It was our third time in Cozumel this past May, and its always just as breath taking as the first time. The shopping center is full of great deals and is always clean. Taxis are always on standby ready to take you to your destination. The prices are reasonable.

Nice spot to land in Cozumel when on a cruise. Lots of shops, restaurants and other attractions. Can sign up for excursions or just jump in a cab and head to the beach like we did.

Be aware! Don't buy stuff, they'll rip you off!!! They offered us a ring first price 800 in the end 400, are you kidding it may be worth 100 in reality!!

Also the drugstore is Overpriced and they cheated us on our money. I bought a few things she than said 36usd i wandered how vome that price, she said, one thing cost 29. i then saud ok i don't take this. So then 36- 29 is only 8 right?? She then saud 12 usd. They were totally lying! 2 elderly mecican women at the cashier stupid me i then bought it anyway as i was in shock but i told her she was lying and cheating and left. I repent, that i didn't leave it all

Also the taxi took 60,- to bring and get us to the other side of the island, while renting a car was much cheaper also hear: open your eyes, they want to give you a rent a car for 100, but you really get it for 40! We talked to other guests that did so. So be aware of this place.
