Nice house, great location, but the owners are always there. Feels a bit intrusive.

Excelente lugar para grupos hasta 15 personas, la ubicacion es genial pues queda cerca de distintos negocios, las habitaciones son compartidas, el servicio de comida y limpieza ea opcional pagarlo o realizarlo uno mismo.

"Casa Drama"
We stayed at Casa Roa for about 6 months. My husband, our dog Mini and I.
It all started out good. Mini had a big garden to play in and the house and area was nice.
There were some small bumps in the road like being dragged into personal family conflicts, water leaks, loud arguments going on upstairs, the whole garden being dug up around our room to fix some pipes making access to the garden difficult etc.
but we let it all pass because all in all we could keep to ourselves and on the surface the manager Sofia was being nice and accommodating towards us.
At some point after another round of loud arguments upstairs Sofia announced that she would be quitting her job as a manager. Her mother, Isabel, had come down to sort everything out, and to help the situation we recommended a friend that had hotel management experience to come down and help out until they could find a replacement for Sofia. Isabel seemed very happy with our suggestion and we made arrangements to get our friend down from the US.
After agreeing to a trial starting date and that our friend could stay in Sofia's former room, we booked and payed a flight ticket for her down to Mexico city. When she finally came down Sofia refused to leave the room and wouldn't even greet her or talk to us. Our friend that came down was not even given the possibility to work there or help out and felt frozen out by the Casa Roa people.
We even had to pay extra so she would have a place to stay, and the hostility from Casa Roa grew.
At the same time my husband had to get medical help removing a kidney stone. He went to a hospital on Casa Roas recommendation and the hospital agreed on a fee which he prepaied, after he checked out they wanted over the double amount (with no reason why) which my husband refused to pay.
This is when things started to get very weird.
Suddenly we were told in an email that we had to leave in one weeks notice. The "official" reason being that we had a conflict with the hospital they recommended. Casa Roa was afraid it would give them a bad reputation letting us stay on.
My husband on his side did everything to solve the situation by trying to pay the hospital parts of its unreasonable claim, sitting down with the Casa Roa people explaining the situation and even paying Casa Roa's own lawyer to explain for Casa Roa this would not effect Casa Roa in any way.
We had already prepayed for 6 more weeks, money we still don't know if we will get back.
In addition they wanted us to pay damages they claimed our dog had done of 400 dollars. Our dog is a small, 8 kg, and very polite. We never leave her alone. We would definitely know if she had damaged anything, which she also never has done in her life. According to Casa Roa she had destroyed 4(!) tables and a door.
On our departure I also found out they had been using highly toxic fertilizers in the garden, our dog had been very sick a couple of times during our stay with symptoms pointing to poisoning and we had many trips to the vet. We had talked to Sofia earlier about this and she had assured us they did not use anything in the garden, we even offered her to buy animal friendly products they could use if they needed.
Casa Roa is now harrassing us on the interenet posting pictures of us calling us frauds and unmoral people. I have never been treated so badly and so unprofessional in my life. The behavior and insults Sofia showed towards our friend who just came down to help, is unforgivable, and exposes Casa Roa's unprofessional conduct and hostility towards guests in this place.
As of today we are suing Casa Roa. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless your dream is to be part of a telenovela from hell.response / report this review -

Nightmare!
We stayed at Casa Roa for several months from January 2016. We had few problems except occasional unexplained hostility from Sofia, the manager. After she rage-quit but then refused to leave after we found a friend who would be willing to take over her duties, things turned sour.
After we had a brief conflict with a hospital they recommended, Casa Roa suddenly demanded we move, long before our prepaid stay was completed, leaving us losing thousands of dollars in prepaid rent. They were threatening to us and on several occasions, we heard screaming and arguing that was loud enough we could hear it several houses away.
That was when we discovered that despite promising not to do so, they had used highly toxic fertilizer in the garden, causing what we believe to be an inexplicable illness in our dog after they had dug up half the garden and our dog had played around in the mud.
It turned so bad, we felt we had to lock the doors and windows in case they would try something criminal. After a day, we decided we had to flee, leaving many of our belongings behind. We're now suing Casa Roa for damages and to get our money back, to which Casa Roa through its owner Isabel Martinez Diaz just responded with a bunch of smiley faces as if to mock us further.
Oh, yeah, that Isabel Martinez is the same person that rated Casa Roa with 5 stars calling it "like home" which, of course, it actually is because she owns the place.

The design and decor. The fantastic breakfast. The incredible hospitality. Was planning on staying 2 nights but ended up staying for nearly 2 weeks, say no more
