I just went to Banyan Tree Mayakoba for 3 days to attend my good friend's wedding. He frequents the venue and highly recommended it, so we decided to support him and explore a new resort in Cancun.
The resort is astounding when you get in. You drive though forests with many trees. The staff are extremely courteous and their English is well spoken. Their buggy system of golf carts is effective in which they pick you up, drop you off, and more. Sometimes it takes 5-15 minutes to get one, but that's no big deal since the resort is so massive! WiFi is also available at the resort, and consistent/fast. Always important!
GOLF VIEW VILLA REVIEW - 3 floors:
As for the villa, we tried a 3 floor golf villa. It's quite massive and comfortable. The AC was strong. The master bedroom was massive, but the other 2 rooms were not large in size. I would highly not recommend placing 6 people in this villa.
As for the villa bathrooms, every villa bathroom has a serious problem. The shower door is formed irregularly like half of a hexagon. Because of this, and no rubber on the door protecting water from leaking out, if the showerhead faces the slit, it will shoot through and into the bathroom. However, the general manager did alert us that they are going to be updating the showers! So, if you're reading this review, you're likely to be lucky enough to have the updated rooms in which the bathrooms will be fixed, there will be a safe in each room, and more. Makes a big difference for a 5-star resort.
I am definitely open to going to the resort again as the Saffron restaurant was really delicious and it was a great way to get away from the bustling city.

I have been to beautiful resorts, but Banyan Tree Mayakoba was by far the best! Everything about the resort was AMAZING!

What can I possibly saw? Any photos you have ever seen doesn't do it justice. It's a true 5 star resort. Service. Quality. Hospitality. You can't lose here. Except be warned if you pay $400 per night for your room, expect that you'll probably pay at least that much for food and drinks every single night.

My family and I recently stayed at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba and your hotel and staff exceeded our expectations in every possible way!
It all started with a warm and courteous driver at the sometimes chaotic Cancun airport. The car was spotless and the driver was knowledgeable and catered to all of our needs. As we entered the gates of the property the security team checked us in and gave us peace of mind that our personal safety should not be a concern during our stay. Upon our arrival at the main reception area we were greeted by several members of your staff. Our check-in was quick and easy, and we were soon escorted to a boat that traveled across the scenic waters to our villa. Our baggage was already in our villa upon our arrival and we were treated to fruit and a refreshing drink. Needless to say, the “hard part” of our trip could not have been easier or more pleasant!
The property itself is beautiful. The property was masterfully planned and allowed for the natural beauty of the water ways to complement each and every villa. The architecture of the main buildings is unique and the spacious villas are perfect for my family of four. Our villa was well appointed, clean, and exactly what we were hoping for!
Our dining experience was exceeded at every meal. The breakfast was spectacular and the combination of authentic and traditional foods gave of plenty of choices. At lunchtime, our favorite activity was to hand pick the ‘catch of the day’ and then enjoy a plate of ceviche on the beach. At dinner time, your four restaurants provided us with fantastic variety and exceptional quality.
The amenities of the property also exceeded our expectations. The concierge was extraordinarily helpful in arranging any activity. The golf course was meticulously maintained, the water sports easily accessible and the spa was simply amazing! However, despite all these positive comments, the best thing about Banyan Tree Mayakoba is not the property, the restaurants or amenities … it is the warm and genuinely friendly staff! Every member of your staff was attentive to our every need and did so with a smile. Their attention to detail made our stay at the Banyan Tree truly special and will keep us coming back year after year.response / report this review -

A resort like none I have visited. Beautiful architecture and incredible atmosphere. The canals and mangroves are breathtaking, and the service was exceptional. Our villa was a true home away from home with added luxuries and touches that made for a truly special visit. Highly recommend!!

Banyan Tree is an excellent luxury resort that I cannot recommend enough! The villas are incredible and very spacious, with private pools that you never want to leave! The service is also impeccable without feeling overly fussy. The resort is quite large, but it's easy to navigate around on the provided bikes, or just call a golf cart to take you around.response / report this review -

5 star everything !!! Upscale food, upscale spa, upscale service the hotel offers private villas with swimming pool.. you can walk throughout the property, bike (each villa is provided two bicycles) or call the reception for a golf cart ride between the lobby and the beach there is a boat service also.what a beautiful landscape Banyan tree is built on top of a natural reserve the only thing the hotel didn't offer was nightlife or entertainment they did have a managers night on the lobby bar and they also provide the guest with complimentary use of a Cadillac Escalade I didn't use that service so I don't know the limitation on mileage I loved this place and can't wait to go back
