The Golden Peacock has been my hotel of choice for all my trips to Malawi. It is a modern Chinese hotel with 2 restaurants, one Chinese of good quality, and one occidental which has a limited menu. The breakfast is mainly Chinese but there are a few Westerner options. The Gym is OK, but the running machine needs a key that you can only get from reception and you cannot use the machine for more than 10 minutes or it starts getting hot and smoke will come out of it (I am not kidding). The swimming pool is in general clean and quiet. There is a Chinese supermarket nearby.

The place is nice up to International Standards. The place has a huge car park, swimming pool, a number of conference rooms, kitchen, bar name it. Only that everything is Chinese. Food is excellent I like the food here.

1. No hot water on arrival and for 24 hours there after.
2. Toilet continuously blocked. No plunger available either. Had to use another rooms toilet.
3. Public toilet in foyer covered in URINE, no toilet paper, disgusting.
4. Pool acid thrown in pool about to swim.
5. Food at hotel is beyond terrible.
6. No hot water again.
7. Room cleaned after lunch.
8. TV channels are not clear, full of "static". Unable to watch
9. Ironing Board Broken.
10. Bedside lights don't work.
11. Tiny Cupboards for 2 people.
12. Repeatedly had to ask for room service items, sometimes not even delivered.
WORST HOTEL EVER AND NOT THE CHEAPEST EITHER
