Cosy setup and friendly staff. Maldivian bread and dhal curry was awesome.
AMEERA IS A SMALL ORIGINAL HOTEL,WELL LOCATED , NICE AND CLEAN.WE APPRECIATED THE HELP FROM THE MANAGER AND THE PERSONNEL.BIG CHOICE OF MENU FOR BREAKFAST AND MEALS. OPTIONAL SPORT ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE ON THE SPOT . WE LIKED IT VERY MUCH
Room was perfect, Nice and Cozy, would recommend this place for great stay at dhiffushi
We planned to stay at Dhiffushi for just one week but we found the island and the Ameera guesthouse so great that we extended our stay for two more nights.
The guesthouse and its rooms are gorgeous with everything what you need. The original wood style gives it a warm welcoming impression. Especially, the drying area for wet towels and bathing suits is very convenient. The rooms can be get cleaned also every morning. The staff is very helpful and kind. If you have any issues or want to have new beach towels; the front desk is always occupied so someone can assist you. We booked All-inclusive and enjoyed continental/local breakfast with a choice of juice/coffee/tea, delicious lunch and dinner. There was always the option if you did not like the lunch menu they could make something else for you. I was a huge fan of the spaghetti and pasta sauce - tomato sweet and a bit spicy.
Dhiffushi has two wonderful beaches. The beach in the north of the island is great for swimming. There are several watersports activities which can be done like stand up paddling, kayak etc.. The privat beach in the south is wonderful for watching the sunset and playing volleyball. The whole island can be surrounded in 20 min.
We had an amazing stay and would come back in future! Shukuriyaa!
We had a very nice stay at a reasonable price. Staff is friendly too. You need to ask them to clean the room otherwise they don't go in. Food is ok, a bit overpriced compared to the other local restaurants
Really nice hotel. And they sell ice cream!
Our stay at Ameera was one of the best experiences ever. The guesthouse is very tastefully designed and built. The rooms are comfortable and the balcony rooms provide a nice view of the ocean. One of the highlights of our stay was the hospitality of Ali, Arysh, Ahmed. They went out of their way to provide us with a comfortable travel, stay, food and excursions. We also got a tour of the island and even though we were there for 5 days, we got to experience and appreciate the local culture.
Ameera provides a very different experience than the big resorts and the hotels. The owners and the staff have put their heart into building and operating this beautiful guesthouse. I highly recommend this place and would definitely visit again in the coming years.
Travel to the island: Ali received us at the Male airport and had arranged a speed boat ride to the island (~ 1 hour)
Food: Really enjoyed the local cuisine at Ameera with lots of tropical fruits and seafood
Stay: High quality and tastefully designed rooms with a lot of high quality woodwork
Excursions: Snorkeling on very picturesque reefs, dolphins, feeding sharks at night
Beaches: Nice clean beaches with awesome sunrise and sunset views.
I usually do not write reviews (just too busy), but am forced to write one here, due to my exceptional experience staying at Ameera guest house in the Dhiffushi island. I would rate it even higher than 5 stars, if allowed. The entire experience from the reservation to the departure was just so amazing and pleasant.
Booking and Transfer:
I had never been to Maldives before and there were a lot of unknowns. I booked directly with the guesthouse and all my questions were answered patiently and clearly. I expressed my concerns about accessibility for a disabled parent and their responses were reassuring and gave me the confidence to book. I was given several options for transfer from the airport and the speed-boat transfer ($250/way) was recommended by the staff. I would now recommend the same to others, as the most convenient option.
Arrival:
We were pleasantly surprised with the owner (Ali) showing up at the airport to greet us. A speedboat was ready to take us and we reached the island in ~90 minutes (normally it would take 45-60 mins, but the ocean waters were quite rough that day). As soon as we reached Dhiffushi, the staff was there to greet us. We were served refreshing fruit juice while we completed the formalities of check-in (they asked us to fill a few forms and made copies of our passport).
Meals:
We had booked an inclusive meal plan with 3 meals/day. Simply put, the food was delicious and the serving (mostly by Arysh) was exceptional. We expressed a preference for local Maldivian dishes and were not disappointed (loved kottu roshi and grilled fish). The best part of the meal was generous servings of fresh salads and tropical fruit (I have a thing for mangoes and papaya, and we were served the same every single day of our stay, after I requested the same). There was enough variety and we did not feel the need for venturing out to other restaurants on the islands or resorts.
Accomodation:
The guesthouse has been built and decorated tastefully and is truly at least a 4-star facility. The guest rooms were beautiful with a lot of woodwork (done by the staff mostly). The fixtures are new, excellent quality, Overall, the guesthouse has a very pleasing undertone.
Beaches:
Dhiffushi is a beautiful island and the beaches are outstanding. There is no overcrowding and it was not unusual to have the beach all to ourselves at times. The water was exceptionally clear and we saw several fish and even spotted manta rays while swimming several times. Ameera has decorated and placed shades and beach lounge chairs on the private beach at one end (?south end) of the island. There is a spot on the eastern side of the island (closer to ?the north end), where close to hundred manta rays and (small) sharks gather at the night time, making for an exceptional treat (I have paid $100/person before on guided excursions and here it was completely free); one of the locals even fed a fish just to attract them even closer to our feet.
Excursions:
Reasonably priced; professional staff; I had the best snorkeling experience of my life. Also enjoyed the sunset dolphin cruise.
Hospitality:
Ameera’s staff was exceptional in taking care of all our needs. Not everybody speaks English, but couple of staff members are fluent enough to communicate effectively. Ameera is a family owned and run enterprise and the staff has “skin-in-the-game” to ensure a good experience for the guests. I became good friends with Ali, the owner and other members by the end of the trip. We were even invited to a family wedding that occurred at the guesthouse during our stay and introduced to several locals on the island. Ali again accompanied us back to the airport at the time of departure and we were a bit sad to leave after an amazing experience.
We will definitely stay at Ameera again and recommend it highly without any reservations.
An absolutely beautiful place. Friendly staff, great chef and cosy atmosphere. The rooms are exactly like the pictures and food is very cheap for really great quality food. The ambience is homely and decor very pretty. I look forward to my next visit. Come here if you want to experience Maldives and get away from the over indulged tourist sites. This island is crime free and there are no police at all. You can leave your bag by your subbed with your goods, phone, cash etc and swim then return to everything exactly as you left it. A real paradise. But not for drinkers if you want to indulge in a alcohol frenzy then don't come here.
Great place, beautiful guest house, very clean, everything looks new and fresh. Food is really delicious and staff friendly. I recommend this place! Maldives look like real paradise.
