This once was a live volcano area and is situated in the Curepipe area. While visiting the southern side of Mauritius this place gets usually covered. It is normally densely crowded and might take a while to have the view of the volcanic area which by the way is covered by greenery and water. There is a nice view of a part of Mauritius and clicking pics gives you breathtaking photos.

Stunning to see. Would have been better with a viewing deck or two as the view is obscured by plants except for a few limited places. But worth a visit!

A thought of standing on edge of once live volcano is itself very electrifying.
The mouth of the volcano is now filled with nice greenery thus hiding its fearful past of venting hot lava flows. The crater is very deep & trees inside appear as small bushes. A small pool of water is also visible deep inside.
The place is usually crowded & one has to wait for some time to have a good look deep inside the basin.

Jogging track around 1.5 km approx in oval shape with two free car parkings.Centered with volcanic place full of nature and greenery. Open air Gym and paid washroom services.

Great place to see the dormant volcano and the crater lake at the bottom. Oddly we’ve visited quite a few volcanoes around the world (not intentionally mind!). Vesuvius was steaming, the one in Iceland had a frozen crater lake and then this one which is absolutely tropical 😊

Just a normal crater. Best to visit at night. You'd see the beautiful city below and not the crater in the night.

One of my favorite spots since I'm a child :) It s now popular for casual joggers. However its a must see if you want to have a look of a dormat volcano. Once you park, you have to walk around the crater for the viewpoint area. Lots of trees and nature lovers will be served. Avoid to go on rainy days because the road is very steep and quite small.

A one time visit place. It will be covered as a part of your package. Nothing so great about the place but as I said one time visit can be done. The view is soothing and full of greenery.

The site of dormant volcano . It's on the south side of the island. Place is very beautiful. Bus accessibility is difficult. Volcano is covered with lush Forest.

Expected something great but found just a small hole in the earth covered fully by trees and shrubs.

Waste of time and not worth the visit.

Nice view of the city, take a walk around the circular road. The crater in itself is not so impressive (you get to see it from pretty far away). Good place for photos.

Great to see the crater and the hole, very green. The surrounding mountains are also stunning. No much services around. Thats why i give it 4 stars only.

Its dormant volcano. Nice place to visit. Good views from top of the hill. Whole surrounding is covered by green vegetation. Crater is filled with water. Roads go round whole surrounding of the volcano. You can go around the whole crater in less than 15 minutes.

Nice place to be if you're on a trip to South Mauritius. The volcano is covered with trees and plants, so gives you a good view.

Really good view! There was a small truck, where you can buy fruit snacks, and the volcano looks really impressive. Come during the golden hour if you want to take some nicely lit landscape photos.
