The spa at Sunset Reef Resort is amazing. The ladies are extremely courteous and concerned. They are bilingual as well. Great experience in general.

The hotel is right next to the beach and all the rooms have very nice view of the beach from the balcony.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Had a cheap massage here - it was surprisingly good - and the view from the bar was fantastic. I only give it 3 stars because it's not super luxurious. The drinks were good too

Fortunately our stay was short. Service is poor. Food is limited. The staff needs training, especially the lady at the reception & booking, who indeed is not only very arrogant but also with no manners. Lack of professionalism on her behalf. As
she highlighted she studied management which was not of our concerned over a chat that towels are big issues etc.. Overall waste of time and money. Hopefully, the hotel can retain their clients going forward. Lack of staff. Only a good thing is the chef Laxman at the restaurant who catered for us.Good luck.

    Worst experience in Mauritius
Most untrained hotel waiter/waitresses, whenever we ask for something they just look at each other as if we were speaking another language. We admit we were speaking English at the table with our English friends, but we spoke creole to them. Either they are not trained properly by Management or they are not supervised to check whether they are delivering what they are paid for. NO vegetarian food for two days, there's a small snack bar across the road where I bought my food. The hotel doesn't give any refund for the food already paid and the booking agent also informed them well in advance that I'm a vegetarian but NO action taken. We gave a tip of Rs200 to the waiter on 26/10 but he had no change from Rs1000. After numerous calls/messages to him over a month, we went to the hotel and reported the matter to the Food and Beverage Manager no change up to now 4/12. I told my husband they are all the same, I had a gut feeling he won't do anything. We had an English couple who accompanied us and for breakfast they were first served sausage/egg and after 3 requests they got toasts at the end of their meal. No cereal or fruits were served on 27 morning. It was our wedding anniversary and they were informed by the booking agent, but they all acted ignorant - no cake was offered and no music was played. WORST EXPERIENCE in a hotel in Mauritius. Would you want to pay this price when you can get better food at home??? For the first time since I came back to Mauritius, I was glad to be home to have proper food. The drink offered on arrival was tasteless, I would rather have water. It's a real shame but I feel management should spend more on training their staff to achieve good results and avoid complaints. It was a shocking experience for the four of us. We do hope we get an apology from Management and our Rs800 change back. We would think twice about giving tips now just because of a cheat. The hotel should put proper etiquette in place for the staff to abide by and not create a bad image to the public.

Our stay was short thank god as it was awful. If possible, bring your own food when coming over, as food is horrible. All the hotel staff are amateurs and trainees. They need a lot of training in customer service. It is a very nice hotel with very poorly trained staff including chefs. It needs good entertainment, activities for adults and kids, proper food especially at breakfast time. This hotel may hopefully be rated a 3 star hotel in couple of years.
