Booked a small Nissan in advance but an unknown branded car was delivered after a few hours of delay. The worst part was when I actually start driving the car. Every time I took a turn, the car made these horrific noises and felt like any moment the car is just gonna fall apart. This car shouldn’t even been allowed on the road in the first place. After a long discussion with the company, they decided to replace the car with a newer one which was much better to drive and felt safer. I really wish they would think about their fleet and what car they give to people. It is a quite nerve wrecking driving in a foreign country and it would be helpful if people actually feel safe in the car and feel confident driving. However, one positive experience was that they came to drop the car and waited for me for couple of hours. So thanks for doing that.

I needed a car quickly at a reasonable price with good services and I stumbled upon Pingouin Car Rental Ltd. It was beyond my expectations. From the booking to the delivery and the in between dealings, all went smoothly and their approach is very friendly and easygoing.
The car was cleaned, well maintained and the staff was available for any help anytime.

Very easy-going company. No problems when you give back the car. It's a very quick procedure.
In fact the agents are very thorough when they bring you the car and register every little prior damage you haven't possibly seen. As a result you feel save knowing they won't put a prior scratch on your back.
I have used them a number of times so far. I am very satisfied and I can highly recommend Pingouin Car rental.

I'm so glad we chose Pingouin for our car hire in Mauritius. The communication with the office staff was superb - prompt, courteous, and always helpful. We rented a Hyundai i10 which was perfect for our needs and was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the car was broken into at Rochester Falls (be careful if you visit this spot) but the team at Pingouin were very quick and professional in their response and replaced the car for us as quickly as they could. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

A great company with extremely competitive prices. The car was delivered and collected on time to our hotel. The delivery and collection guys were very polite and in uniform. Even though their card machine wasn't working the still allowed us to have the car and pay for it on collection. A really good company and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Pleasure from start to finish. Easy collection from the airport with the representative waiting next to the door as detailed in the reservation paperwork. Although our last minute booking was not on his paperwork for the day, the representative phoned round and arranged a temporary car for us to use while the one we had booked was sorted out. Having driven across the island to our hotel, a few hours later another representative from Pingouin came to the hotel with the car we had booked & switched them. New car, low km's, economical and in good condition throughout. On drop off returned to door 16 at departures where the representative met us and quickly took the car back with no hassle leaving us with only a very short walk to bag drop. I would use Pingouin again & would recommend their service to others without a second thought. Thank you again.

We have used this car rental company for last 7 years and found it to be extremely reliable and their cars are modern. We rented a 4 by 4 Hilux pickup as we wanted a very large car. The car which we got was August 2016 registered and that is new for Mauritius. The people at this company are very friendly and they will not try and rip you off for any fabricated damage which is very important as 700 euros are at stake. We would highly recommend this company to all people visiting Mauritius and wanting to hire a decent car from a decent company

Booked a car which was delivered at the hotel. Service was good and the car as well. The thing is that the company works with exchange rates that make no sense. Overal this make the experience bad which is a pity because their service is ok. Overal paid 10 to 15% more then the invoice stated. Not a nice way to earn more money on trustfull tourists.

I hired a car from these guys for a week. After getting the car, we went for a drive an notice a strange noise every time we were breaking. Still, we kept the car as we were on a tight schedule. Unfortunately the noise got louder and louder, which totally spoilt the whole driving experience. We don't think this was "unkown" from the renter so we would advise customers to test drive the cars they rent!
Also, i do not understand why pre-authorization on credit card is not cancelled/voided (and corresponding receipt provided) upon return of the car without incident raised by their agent. This is really oddall the more strange my bank says this is standard practice!.anyways, all in all, not impressed or satisfied with the car rented but good customer service still.

First Class Service all the way - We had a very good experience using this company rather than the better well known Hertz or Sixt and we were very pleased from start to finish. We booked online and only had to pay a small deposit, the car was waiting for us upon arrival at the airport as booked and the car provided was exactly as ordered and was clean and well maintained. The card did us proud and was very economical on petrol and our return was just as easy as pick up. Thank you Pingouin, I will put forward my recommendation to use you to our Travel Agent for other Mauritius visitors. Awesome service from start to finish. Would use Pingouin again for future visits to Mauritius.

The vehicle was as advertised and we had a terrific time driving around Mauritius. We were able to fit 5 people and all our luggage in the Ertiga comfortably. The vehicle back seat opens up without luggage for more space also. Would definitely recommend this company if in Mauritius

We really enjoyed our stay Mauritius because we could drive around with the car we rented. The staff is very kind and friendly. He took us to the gas station and helped us get sim card for the internet as well. We booked for the small car but the staff kindly see that our surfboards are too long for the car we booked, he changed it to the bigger car for free of charge. merci!

Booked a compact car for a month, received an economy one. Not that bothered as not much difference between the two. For a car that is only a year old it had a noisy suspension. Received a call after a few days, that I was given the wrong car. The following day they tried to deliver a car which had a number of heavy damaged panels and 4-5 years old.
