  DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!
  They try to scam you in every way.
  They gave us a car where the gas was only at 7/8, we told the employee but he explained to us that it is a faulty meter in the car but he reassured us the car has a full tank of gas. Obviously towards the end of our trip we filled up the car and magically the meter goes all the way. Therefore we paid more for gas than we had to, when we dropped off the car we told the employee and he laughed at us and he told us that there is nothing we can do and only send and email to Budget. We went to the front desk at Malta airport and again the employee told us that we have to send an email but yeah sending emails means we will never hear back from them. it doesn't matter if they scam you for 10 euros or 1000, it is still unacceptable..

  Just like everyone else hidden charges in the T&Cs. Not a nice way to do business. Out of hours charge when they’re open 24 hours a day!?! How does that work! The car was pretty old and damaged when we collected it. Add in the awful driving in Malta, I would say avoid driving here if at all possible.

  Many hidden costs. We ended up paying twice what we thought. Charged for fuel when returned full.

  Should have read the reviews before renting. Same experience as other renters where Budget Malta added damage waivers that i declined. It is difficult to notice immediately since they send you a pdf and don't give you a printout. Overall price was still not too bad for 6 days, but would have been 110 Euro lower without the ripoff.

  Budget Malta is run by absolute bandits. We were made to pay a 1000 Euro deposit. They have now withdrawn 650 euros from my card claiming that we broke the tailgate light. We did not and have video evidence to prove it was broken when we picked up the car. No one will answer my calls or emails.
  
  Considering legal action. DO NOT USE THEM
