Recently renovated. I stayed 2 nights and satisfied. There are many helpful English-speaking staffs in lobby. They keeps your luggage before checkin and after your checkout as long as you wish. It also has nice pool and jacuzzi. Pool is about 1-3.5 M. Towels are free to use. Sand hotel is next door, meaning that you can use free shuttle bus to Macau Ferry Terminal, Sands Central in Taipa, etc. Restaurant buffet on 2nd floor was nice for breakfast or lunch with 20 % discount.
Very nice hotel and fantastic pool with kids for a reasonable price. Buffet is really affordable with varieties. Will certainly come back.
Nice view(bird singing in morning). Pool is wonderful. Breakfast is best. Room is also excellent(nice bed).
We loved our stay. The chef Went out of his way to accomodate my gluten free diet. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and super helpful. Can't wait to go back for a lovely family holiday!
A luxurious and expensive hotel. It was the best deal I could find online. We really enjoyed the pool. We had a great time, but this is usually not the kind if hotel we look to stay at. We couldn't find anything less expensive
We have been staying at the Grand Lapa every few months for the past 4 years for a refreshing break from life in China as an expat until the end of 2017. It is honestly eagerly anticipated by every member of the family.
There is phenomenal supervised children's area, great outdoor resort with multiple pools, spa, sauna, massage etc.
The Bellavista prepares beautiful food in a charming Portuguese old world restaurant that is peaceful and relaxing.
The rooms are well equipped and generous in size, especially the suites. There are extensive renovations to update to look of the rooms to a more modern style which make it look crisp even though I personally prefer the old world charm of the older style rooms.
However, far above the fantastic facilities the Grand Lapa provides which has made it our families (as well as many of our expat friends) holiday destination of choice anywhere in the Aus Pacific region, the greatest asset the hotel has is it's staff. Honestly, they have been quite amazing! And I don't mean that they help when asked, smile when speaking to you amazing, I mean they look for ways to make you feel cared for. They go above and beyond any reasonable or exceptional level of service. A huge majority of them have become friends of our family. There is no hotel I've ever stayed in our even heard of whose staff literally make the hotel great.
This is 1st time I revisited since it renovated. Naam Thai restaurant did not disappoint me. Same service and quality kept. Bar was friendly in cocktail & snack suggestions. Edgar of Gym was extremely helpful in explaining and showing how to use each piece of equipment for a busy tourist. I want to give 5 stars but for the changing room janitor attitude and the poorly provisioned restaurant breakfast.
Newly renovated room is superb. Spotlessly clean and turndown service at night. Pool and fitness centre is also very nice. Located right next to sands casino from where complimentary buses take you all over Macau. Very good value for money
Very very impressive hotel. Superb showers - steaming hot rain shower in a very modern and clean bathroom. Hotel situated only ten minutes walk from the Wynn poker room, and only about 3 minutes by cab from the ferry terminal. Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Room clean and well equipped.
Outstanding hotel. Great location. The room we were in seemed dated. I would definitely stay here again. The staff were very professional and pleasant. Thank you for the upgrade. :)
A great hotel to stay at with amazing view. The Hotel staff and service are very warm and prompt.
I visited the Grand Lapa for work with the intention to consider it as a leading hotel for my clients as a Travel Agent/Tour Operator. It did not disappoint. The appeal was the newly refurbished rooms, but the entire resort, spa & pool area will be a great retreat after a long day sightseeing. Recommended.
Outstanding, recently renovated with lovely, fresh modern interiors too.
I chose this hotel because of its location; close to the old heart of Macau (it is also handy that it is right by the ferry terminal to Hong Kong).
But also that the bathrooms would be new & mould free (a common trait in such hot & humid climates). The pool & spa area was an absolute oasis in such a city, it has a very tropical style. The highlight has to be the staff, everyone was very warm, kind & helpful whilst remaining incredibly professional. Combined with new, unpretentious rooms, a staff that just make your stay and a reasonable price for Macau; Grand Lapa was a solid choice for my visit!
During 🌀hato, the place was organised. Electricity and water supply were provided with highest standards. Staff were helpful and efficient. Great hotel. I will definitely come back. Good restaurants as well by the way.
We stayed here in January 2011 and loved the place. The old world charm and decor was so nice after Hong Kong. Brilliant dining room and amazing breakfasts and great coffee.
Great rooms and great hotel, even though it is undergoing some considerable renovations.
The hotel is really good. Too bad for all the construction and the noise. They should really tell people that the Hotel is under renovation before they make the reservation.
Great hotel for family with young children. The room are newly renovated, good location, and very comfortable.
Amazing place. Best service at affordable price
Old Style Hotel decor (Undergoing renovation)with Spacious Rooms, and very close to Macau Outer Harbour Terminal. Very Friendly Hotel Staff - A delight in itself.
Hotel is in general quite well equipped. Staff is mostly helpful and friendly but even at the counter good english speaking personnel is rare. I stayed for over 7 weeks (business trip) so I got quite a good impression on the hotel and its staff.
The rooms are tidy and well equipped (5 Stars!), but obviously very old. The TV is not a modern LCD but still an old CRT type TV set (though with a flat screen). The walls are covered with a very dark brown-redish wood which was considered luxurious like 20 years ago I guess. AC is working well, but some of the staff tend to set it to the minimum temperature which means after an 12h day I came back to a freezing room.
The SPA area is just great. Awesome massages, a well equipped gym and an outside swimming pool with a pool attendant, some sun loungers, an artificial waterfall and even a water slide.
Breakfast tends to get very busy at around 9 which means that you sometimes have to wait ~5-10 minutes to get a table. Buffet style breakfast is well equipped but repetitive. For some reason they always mix the fruit juices so the labels are never correct. That would be especially bad for someone with allergies to certain fruits. To me it was "just" annoying because they have a very sour grape fruit juice that has a very strong taste. Because of the mixing basically every juice just tastes like grapefruit. They've been doing this ~75% of the days so it was not coincidential.
One of the easiest places all over Macao to get a Taxi. They have a Taxi lamp outside and someone getting empty taxies in whenever you need one. Even if you don't stay here they will get you a Taxi in a reasonable amount of time (which is not natural for Macao).
KFC and Mc Donald's are relatively close as well as several good local restaurants and supermarkets so no issues here.
I would just wish for them to renovate the rooms and make them more modern. A flat screen and some brighter colors would turn this into a 5 Star hotel for me as well.
Not one of the finest in Macau (not even close), but!!!! It Was a very Nice Hotel in General! The staff Was super friendly. And The breakfast Was heaven!! The Hotel is under construction for obvious reasons. But i would defenetly recomend it. Good wifi connection in The room
Wonderful "old style" hotel. The reception hall is beautiful with live music coming from the bar. Big, clean rooms.
Started upgrading now, high quality of services
Superb hotel.
Service is excellent.
Staff is very cooperative.
