Don't stay there if you want to support locals, they try to overcharge you on pretty much everything, profit doesn't go to locals.
    Rooms and vibe is nice.

There's a very friendly vibe at ostello Bello. Really good place to meet fellow travellers and you can exchange bookings from one ostello Bello to another if you fancy moving on early

Stayed 2 nights here, private room on the third floor $30AUD a night.

Awesome vibes, great people. Hanging on the rooftop with fairy lights above, a candle on the table and smoking a Burmese cigar (sorry Mum!) can’t be beat.

Lots of extras to help with your stay: free shampoo/soap, hairdryers, laptops, good advice, easy to organise local tours etc from staff at the front.

Lake Inle itself is a day trip - would say staying here made the three days worth it.

Ostello Bello Nyaung Shwe, great place as always with Ostello Bello. Clean, efficient, nice food. They are able to book everything for you: tours, buses, trek.. You name it.
You will be able to see the city from above, great roof with decent price at the bar.

The hostel itself is very nice.
We had a 4 bed room though that you usually expect to be a bit more quiet - that's why you book it right but here they put those rooms on the groundfloor right next to the reception and main dining hall. It was extremely noisy with all the people passing by and staying in the dining/breakfast hall. What's more just outside of the windows there was a small canal for all sorts of waste water. So there was a constant stream of water falling on the concrete ground, which was annoying and impossible to open the window as it smells bad.

We booked a double room but were provided a twin room. This room (303) smelled like sewage. We asked for another room unsuccessfully. No apologies from the staff, explanation was "we don't know what happened". We suspect an earlier check-in complained.

It's the main backpacker hostel in town and we met nice people.

Otherwise, neither good service nor particularly friendly prices (20k charged for a boat when we negotiated 15k on the dock).

Amazing hostel, lively atmosphere, great murals and paintings, great ambience, comfy rooms, fantastic breakfast, helpful staff, staff helps organize groups for boat rides with least commission unlike other hostels nearby. Can crash at rooftop beds, if it bus arrives early morning, that's a huge plus.

It's ok, the place doesn't seem to know how to run a hostel, I was put into a 4 bed female dorm, then later moved to the 14bed mixed. The evening events dont seem to attract much attention, and the water and cokes are really expensive. Charge you for changing towel, even after staying there for 3 nights+. Beds were comfy, although short (6foot plus will struggle)

It was okay. We had a private room with bathroom. The shower blocked up the first night, we let front desk know the next morning and went out for the day. When we came back it still wasn't handled so had to use shared showers. They did fix it shortly after the second request which was good. Probably missed because they are very busy. Breakfast is okay, a bit slow but that is because they are so busy. First two nights they shut down the party around midnight but you can still hear people coming and going. Our last night the party was still going at 3AM, apparently no quiet time at this hostel. Great place to meet people but if travelling as a couple there are better, cheaper options

The place is so organised and can supply you with all the information you need and also help you plan. The staff is a mix between locals and foreigners, giving back to the community while also having reliable English speaker. The rooms are spacious and clean. Can only recommend - Book online as it's cheaper and they might be fully booked

WORST STAFF EVER! Rude and incompetent. After waiting an hour on a simple dessert we realised they'd also managed to mess up the order. A European looking woman with a cheap dye job gave us the money back for what they'd neglected while being extremely arrogant

Very new building, modern like most western hostels. Big, clean, good open common areas. Very nice rooftop bar.

This was the second Ostello Bello we stayed in while we were in Burma. At the time it was still under construction, but it never interfered with my sleep. They helped organise everything and have some really good tours that you can do.

We were here just a few weeks after their opening and love the chain in general! The rooms (ours was a double) were very clean and we were able to check in early which was really nice. They have rooftop beds for early arrivals and late departures. They have a great luggage room too. They offer day tours on the boat and sunrise tours as well. Their wifi was still a work in progress (they were working on getting faster wifi) but definitely functional :) one of the guys at reception was especially nice and always happy to help/answer questions. Great place to stay! The longer boat tour is definitely worth it! It takes you to a pagoda filllled with little stupas! Very cool.
