Loved it. Great people and excellent location
You can get a reasonably comfy room at a good price and the breakfast is better than Myanmar's average. The guesthouse also comes with a terrace and an outside area to hang out and relax. They have it all very well figured out, in terms of making treks in the Hsipaw area and arrange transportation to other parts of the country easy to book.
Great place to meet other travellers and a one stop shop to book your hike and travel. We wanted to do a 2 day hike, however due to tension in the area we only did one day. Had a great day with a small group, lovely lunch in the village and boat ride.
Breakfast is nice and the restaurant and balcony upstairs is a great place to chill.
Only negative is that we booked our onwards travel direct to Bagan and our means of overnight transport was a local bus for local people for 12 hours. This meant that our legs did not fit in between the seat in front (even when not reclined) and had to sit at an angle, which was very, very uncomfortable. We knew it was not VIP but would have expected a little more room.
Simple but clean rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also booked a two day hike for $18 pp with was on our budget. Nice and chilled place with cold beer.
awesome hotel for begpacker at DOM-ROOM WITH LOVELY BREAKFAST.
You can tell this place was started by a businessman and not a former traveler. The staff is very rude and aggressive and I heard them fighting with two separate guests over charges/money. The dorms are tiny with no room to move.
Absolutely perfect for my needs.
Attention to detail with what travellers want is spot on.
They are rated the best place to stay in Hsipaw and I can see why
Mr. Charles Hostel is well know in Hsipaw and it's for a reason. Perfect camp base to start every trek in the area, book everything you may need for the pursuit of your trip.
The place is well staffed, friendly and the people we met there were great. Really enjoyed and would recommend it for anyone visiting Hsipaw.
Very neat place. Quite busy and you can tell they know how to work with tourists. The room was comfortable and clean. Which was so good after we did the 2d 1n trekking tour. The trekking tour was phenomenal, going through the jungle, some nice authentic villages and stayed with a nice family who's cat snuggled up to me at night. The guide was good and told us all about the area and how it was like growing up in Myanmar.
Clean and nice room but the funtion in room is not so good
I had a good experience at mr Charles hotel/guesthouse. The staff has been very nice and friendly and helpful. Thanks to Zaw lwin to take me to the hot spa after his shift. And thanks to his other young receptionist to show me how to fix my lonngyi properly!
And advice for travellers. Book dormitory under the mr Charles guesthouse, not under mr Charles hotel. The hotel is next to the guesthouse and offers single rooms, and has only one dorm room without air con. I made this mistake and asked to change upgrading my reservation to the guesthouse and it was great! Breakfast is nice and rooms are clean.
Clean. Good breakfast. Comfy beds. Bit noisy.
Nice and lovely place with scenery views.
Clean, nice staff, good breakfast
I would stay there again, good atmosphere, very nice staff, nice breakfast, new bathrooms and toiletts (at least they look new).
Great Hostel - friendly staff and good breakfast
Stayed 2 night in the hotel section..
+ good location ..breakfast OK..and helpful staff ..room comfortable and clean
- poor WiFi (all over Myanmar) ..TV poor
Only interested by money and selling treks.
Useless for more specific information. And quality of the room is poor for the price. There is plenty of nice hotel and cheaper in town.
