I stayed at the hotel for three evenings in March. Decor in guest rooms and public areas reflects attention to detail. Rooms have all requisite amenities including individual WiFi routers. Shuttle goes into town from early morning until around 9pm. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent - best bread during four weeks in Myanmar. Dinner menu is attractive. Price value relationship is excellent. This property is arguably the best in Hsipaw. For reference, I own a 13 bedroom bed and breakfast and tend to be quite critical.

Very pleasant stay. Perfect to relax after a trek. Thomas, the owner, is very nice and accommodating. He speaks French, English and Burmese and helped us a lot to organize our trek and our trip afterwards. Great rooms with all the comfort needed. Great restaurant with both oriental and western food. Swimming pool and jacuzzi are just the cherry on the cake. Must do if you pass by Hispaw.

Aside from the amazing views and fantastic food the hospitality at Kumudra is like nothing I have ever experienced. Thomas and all his wonderful staff went way above and beyond to make our stay in Hsipaw one of the most memorable in Myanmar.

Terrific view of Hsipaw, high standard. Hotel has opened in 2017.
French co-owner has made a great effort to build a hotel that can meet western demands. The kitchen is amazing, both for its Asian and western style food. The restaurant is on top of the building. It has a free shuttle to downtown Hsipaw. There is both a swimming pool and a heated jacuzzi on the rooftop in winter.response / report this review -

Excellent hotel with incredible cook (so good!). Too modern and huge rooms with lodgia. Pool and rooftop jacuzzi.

Hotel with an outstanding view on the surroundings, a large swimming pool with the same nice view, large and clean rooms and a friendly, helpful staff. The owner is very kind and always willing to help you with various kind of questions. The free shuttle service to the town center is both a must at this somewhat remote location, but also an excellent service. The food in the restaurant is good, but slightly expensive (relative to Myanmar price level). The breakfast is also good with eggs, yoghurt, cornflakes, juice, toast, etc. Overall it is a vey decent hotel, with very friendly staff, good food and a nice pool. And a must stay for families with children.
