Located in the heart of Myanmar, 67 km east of Mandalay, in the highlands of the Mandalay Mountains, the city has a cool climate and was used as a summer residence by the British until the Second World War.
At an altitude of 1070 meters, the Aureum Palace Hotel & Resort, Pyin Oo Lwin is not only a hotel with garden bungalows that offer all the famous Aureum comfort, but also the completely restored residence of the former British governor of Burma. Where once officers, lords and ladies sought refuge from the summer heat, conferences, weddings and business meetings take place today in a nostalgic colonial flair.

Enjoyed two days of stay at this lovely property. While we were given twin bed for a couple (which wasn’t clarified on booking), the property makes up for it. One day they had a breakfast spread but the next day it was a la carte breakfast but both were good. Fruits in the breakfast tasted good and fresh.
    Pros: Good place. Decent price.
Cons: Some weird smell in the washroom.

Do visit the Governor’s house which is a 2 min ride by buggy. It seems a bit creepy with those wax statues but an interesting place to see.

The bungalows are all well equipped with hot and cold feature. The bungalow 405 is the only one with a pool in it.
