Attended a Berber music concert, it was simply amazing! It cost 50 dirhams for visiting the museum and attending the music concert. You should definitely try to attend of the music concerts!

Music night Friday Vendredi is really cool, the owner of both this museum and the photo museum gave a talk on the architecture of the riad and then two musicians shows up one with oud the other with a percussion instrument to perform Musique Andalouse, singing love songs about lost territories to the north. It would be nice if they have a program descriptive of each of the song or at least a few sentences to give context. But overall a great experience, watch the flying fingers on the oud and hearing songs of very ancient stories. Nice way to spend an hour of your evening before hitting the Jamaa el Fena night scene.

Interesting example of traditional house where the painter Abdelhay Mellakh was born.
The museum houses a number of paintings by Mellakh that are arranged in the various rooms of his first home. While he moved to Casablanca in his late years, this is where his first studio was located.
It is also an example of an affluent home that has been restored to its original splendor. Particularly notable is the guest apartment, which had a nice view of the inner courtyard and access to the roof terrace.response / report this review -

One additional star dedicated to the gentleman at the reception who helpfully explained the place’s history (which you don’t usually get in other places in Marrakech/ Morocco unless you pay tour guides). Place itself nicely restored but not really that big and have not much to explore. Rooftop terrace is a nice break from hustle and bustle from the streets and gasoline smell of scooters. Otherwise the 30 dirham is not that good value for money.

I wasn't going to come here because I don't like museums but I got 50% discount. Normal ticket is only 30dh so not expensive anyway, but the discount was a nice enticement and its association with the Museum of Photography that i also appreciated so much that caused me to go. I'm SO glad I did. This isn't a normal museum. I'm staying in a riad but this explains more than that with it's beautiful restoration of an important riad. It's gorgeous. What wonderful break from the rest of the medina. A must go for those culturally inclined.

Lovely museum for only 30dhs with detailed information (in English!!). The alley leading to it is pretty sketchy but don't be confused like I was. During the time of my visit, there was a rug exhibition. The man at the front desk was super welcoming, and kindly explained the history of the place to me.
