Fine for a weekend break with the children. Communicating rooms was a bonus. Quite noisy during the evening due to its location; however, its proximity to the Old Town and the beach counters this.

The Hotel Rembrandt is good choice for a clean, quiet, well-run and reasonably-priced hotel right in the center of downtown Tangier.

I stayed at the Rembrandt on my very first trip to Morocco in the early 1980s and had one of the rooms with a fabulous panoramic view of the city beach down below.

The Hotel Rembrandt was the favorite hotel of a good friend, a writer and Hollywood screenplay writer who had previously lived in a villa on the mountain for 15 years. When he returned to visit Tangier, he preferred this hotel rather than the Minzah.

I can't vouch for the rooms as I don't need a hotel anymore since I am now a resident of the city and have a house; however, I can say that the Hotel Rembrandt reeks of Old World Charm without being pretentious and the lobby is comfortable and traditional.

There is a good restaurant and comfortable bar area in the back on the ground. floor, with huge plate-glass windows overlooking the gardens and swimming pool, as well as the ocean and port in the distance.

During Ramadan you may have a coffee or tea inside when nearly all of the other cafes are closed during the daylight hours.

The Rembrandt also has WiFi that works well most of the time, on my visits there. If I were visiting Tangier, I would stay here, and save a bit of money.

It is convenient to restaurants and shopping downtown, and within easy walking distance of the Medina and Grand Socco. But if you don't wish to walk, you can always hail a petit taxi on the Boulevard Pasteur or Avenue Mohammed V.

I stayed with my wife and two kids (aged 3 and 10) at the Rembrandt for 10 days. we were treated very well, the pool was great, the breakfasts generous and very tasty. It's a great location, and a great hotel for the money. Would love to go back one day.
