The checkin was very slow. There were 3 members of the staff at the reception, and we (4) were the only guests, and still it took half an hour.
Our rooms were not done, so we had to wait even longer (we arrived around 19:00 / 7 PM). There were no towels and no water (free water every day was included).
After contacting the reception 2-3 times we got towels. During our 6 night stay we did not once get two bathing towels. Sometimes no towels, sometimes only one towel and sometimes one bathing and one hand towel. We had to ask for towels almost every day.
The first night we made the big mistake to try the hotel restaurant. Do not do that! Visit the Al Fassia restaurant 50 m down the road. The restaurant is slow, untrained and the food is poor. Also a big warning sign is that there is no other guests.
The room, beds and cleaness is fine. Do not worry about the black corridors, then the trash and leftovers from room service, that are left everywhere, is not that obvious.
The breakfast is okay, but surely some of the dishes are from the day before. You can get a freshly made omelet and 5 of 6 days the orange juice was freshly pressed.
In general the hotel is overstaffed, but they are not very efficient. They are kind but not smiling, and you do not feel welcome.
You seldom see other guests, maybe because there are only 23 rooms.
When we were preparing to checkout a person (a member of the staff we think) suddenly contacted us very agressively about two bottles of Evian from the mini bar, and yes we had one bottle from the mini bar the first night, when there were no water in our room. I tried to explain it, but still why argue abot 100 MAD. Not very service minded.
The best thing about the hotel is the perfect fast wifi and internet.
I will recommend you to consider another 5 star (cheaper) hotel, e.g. the Mogador Palace Agdal 1 km down the road.
Booked 5 rooms for 9 people, but they said they only got confirmation for 1 room. We were reallocated to another hotel called Zaragh Kasbah. The whole experience is too disgusting, please see the following points:
1. They took 4 hours to figure out the situation and book new rooms. Ironically, one of them rooms they opened has already been occupied by some other customers.
2. Cockroaches and worms in the room. Please check the attached image.
3. They promised to pay for the reallocation, but the next day, we were asked to pay again. So the manager of Cesar lied to us when we were reallocated.
4. The new hotel does not allow us to leave until we paid. We refused and got our luggage dragged out from the taxis, being cursed, shouted and pushed by the staff and they locked our luggage in a room. During this process, the workers of Cesar promised to show up and pay for the fee, but they were late for 1 hour, so we were stuck in the lobby and missed out the flight.
5. Cesar was 5 mins away from the new hotel. And even when they arrived, they only carried a “deposit “ instead of a full fund.
6. This is a scam. We doubt that Cesar overbooked the rooms, so whoever checked in late had to be reallocated to a worse hotel and be recharged.
7. We did not get any refund even for the price difference between the two places. Expedia said since we accepted to be reallocated, they are not going to refund us as well. What other choices do we have at midnight in Marrakesh? Not even possible to contact Expedia and get re-allocated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About reservation: If Cesar did not lie about the confirmation they received, then Expedia should be responsible for their mistake. If Cesar lied, then why Expedia even allow this to happen? If Cesar was the one that received the payment of 5 rooms, why did they even not doubt this is not the amount for only one room?
About re-allocation: Cesar lied about having paid for the full amount. Until we left, the staff from both hotels were still arguing in the lobby about the payment.
About reporting to Expedia: I made 4 calls for over 4 hours to Expedia. They were only offering $200 coupon and nothing more. For a forum that is so irresponsible and encourages bad business, I will never use it as a service again.
For a hotel can just scam people like this and gets away from it with the support of Expedia, it is not acceptable. I would like to share this experience to prevent anyone from making the same mistake like us.
Anyhow, if anyone wants to pay $860 for 5 dirty rooms and be scammed/ threatened to miss the flight, Cesar is your top choice!!
We arrived at the hotel late at night, but the front desk told us the reservation we made for 6 rooms there is only one available, his solution was to transfer us to a cheaper hotel nearby. More problems were created and there wasn’t any apologies nor refund. Book the place if you want to be deserted to some place random
It was the worst place ever to get a massage in all Marrakesh (and we had a lot) - the room was super cold and we asked the girls 3 times if they could do something about it, but nothing !!! Our hands and feets were freeezing!
The Best ♥️
Great service, friendly, good rooms, clean, nice restaurant and close to town.perfect for business trips
