Good
Great hospitality
Having arrived amidst the frenetic chaos of Marrakech, nothing could have prepared me for the tranquility and calm of Riad el Mezouar. This Riad is the best 'Home away from Home' that I have ever stayed at in all my years of both business and leisure travel.
The Riad was taken over by Romaine Lancaster last year and she has lovingly restored many of the original features using traditional methods and craftsmen. The Zen effect creeps up on you. You might be having dinner (the food is really fab!) overlooking the shimmering pool, flowerbeds and fountain, watching the candles flickering all around you. Or having breakfast on the roof terrace appreciating the attention to detail and the aesthetics of the setting, not to mention the great views of the snow clad Atlas Mountains off in the distance.
Having spent the previous week touring Andalusia to experience the marvels of the Real Alcazar, The Alhambra and other Moorish delights, I realised whilst staying at Riad El Mazouar what it was like to be a Prince in your own Palace !
Neither Romaine nor her lovely staff could have been more helpful and the assistance in organising any form of transportation and even a visit to a local Hamann was much appreciated.
I look forward to my next visit.
