It's a nice park with enough green for picnics/naps and various outdoors sports/games. Lots of benches around the winding paths, usually in groups of at least two, but you should mostly be able to find a non-occupied bench group.
A couple of brand-new playgrounds for kids and there's one even for dogs (on the Matisa st. side).
Not suggested at night as it's close to the so called "Moskachka" area in Riga which can spew out a thug or two who don't mind the park as well, but in daytime it's as safe as they can get.response / report this review -

Beautiful local park. Has lighting wheb dark and regular local.police patrols. Several cgildrens play fields, including a pool, and a cafe with a great view.

If you enjoy lots of salad leaves then this is the place for you.
Burgers are served cold.
And chicken almost has no flavor.

A peaceful and quiet green spot in the middle of Riga with quite a few activity corners for all ages - including basketball court, kids playground, pool, training bars, running tracks around the park, and a cafe for some leisure time in the sun.

Un parque precioso, sobre todo si hace buen día. Hay carril para bicis, zona para perros con sus rampas y obstáculos, zona de ejercicio, zona de niños y pistas de baloncesto.

Very cozy and well mai tai ed park in heart of Riga city. It have a kids playing place, place for dogs, basketball field. Very recommend to visit!

Great outdoors. The park has a playground, low pool, a labyrinth, cafe and a fountain. Suitable for running or other alike outdoor activities. Dogs can be taken out.
