Riga is a beautiful place to visit its a must. Also a twenty minute train ride to jumarla beach. You can take a stroll along the beach or visit some of the lovely shops or café bars it has to offer.

The most popular park and one of the main touristic points in the city. The park includes statues of renowned writer Rainis and the Latvian army’s first commander-in-chief, Oskars Kalpaks. The park is flanked by the Orthodox Cathedral, the Latvian Art Academy and the National Art Museum.

One of the parks which was formed after the fortification system of Rīga was demolished. The park held one of the expositions of Riga's 700th anniversary and three song and dance festivals. Home to the art academy (neo-gothic), the national museum(neo-baroque) and an orthodox cathedral (neo-byzantine). The monument of Rainis is also here, as well as many others. It has a public WC and a couple summer terraces and holds a Christmas Market in winter.

A very nice place during summertime and on city events due to small shops and other activities. Be careful around beggars surrounding the cathedral ( local beggar mafia) also be nice not to walk on grass.

The park is nothing much by itself - some lawns, some trees, but it is surrounded by objects with beautiful architecture, like orthodox cathedral and academy of art (neo gothic), National museum of art (seen in the main picture) The park has a really huge statue of Latvia's greatest poet - Rainis. His is not the only monument in the park.

A nice park in the very heart of the city. Used to be a venue for military parades. Footpaths badly need renovation.

Geat place for a quite breaks durring lunch time, or city park walks. Ut has amnieties for kids and a place for having food.

A wonderful place to take a walk or just relax on a bench. Tbe park is well tended and has several other options for relaxing, like a cafe and trampoline rental.

Nice park in city center for a short walk. During the summer there can be found cafe with food and beverages. Some concerts are taking place in there sometimes because it’s city center.

Yet another green space in the centre of Riga, well looked after, has crafts markets now and then even in the winter. Used for public events. Lovely place.
