Do not book this hostel ! This was the worst hostel experience I have ever had! The staff was extremly rude, ignored people when they wanted to ask something and could hardly speak english. Even simple tasks or requests like an ordinary check in seemed almost impossible for them, because they were struggeling to use the booking system. Everything was incredibly dirty, nobody was cleaning for days. Sheets for the bed were not fresh. From the promised towels or breakfast, both were suppposed to be included I haven't seen anything. The kitchen was full of dirt and couldn't be used. The water was not working for two days. They were not able to fix that and seemed to not care about that. No showers and no toilet- but people were still using them, so you can imagine how the toilet not flushed for two days looked likebad atmosphere in general and you should hope for the elevator to work, if not have fun going up to fith floor with your stuff. No keyes were given, door to room was always open. They only positive thing is, that it is close to train station, so you can leave this big bad desastr at least fast! I would rather sleep on a bench in a park then booking a room in this place. Don't go there- even if you need to pay one or two euros more in another hostel, it is it not worth!

I would like to share with you the reason why I consider my experience with this hostel as the worst ever.
I've booked a room for two for one night (for 4-5 July, 2016) 4 months ago through booking. My boyfriend added a comment, kindly asking for one double bed. After a very very long way (around 36 hours of no sleep), we finally arrived to this hostel. I am a very picky person and I considered a lot of options in Riga to stay that night, but the reason why we took this hostel is the location, in the morning we had to continue our trip further from Riga Coach Station.
When we arrived, receptionist asked us to wait as she has some other things to do. Alright. When she took my booking confirmation, she said "I see, but what I can do with this reservation is just offer you another room for 4 people with 2 bunk beds just for you for no extra payment". I asked to explain why our room has been given to other people even though I made my reservation 4 months (!) ago. Receptionist said "You know we have so many reservations". SORRY!? MANY RESERVATIONS?
Receptionist called smbd and said "Good news, I just called to another hostel and they are waiting for you. It is just 15 minutes walk from here. You have to pay one again there". SORRY??? We are tired, booked this (!) hostel, in case of no-payment we are going to be charged for the "stay" and we have to go with suitcases 15 minutes Really?
In one hour of trying to get excuses (no excuses actually made) and asking her to contact booking and not charge us we decided to try to go where this receptionist sent us And you know what? They also said that they don't have double room and sent us to another hostel. Haha. In two hours of trying to get at least the place to sleep, we finally got asleep.
What do we have? Awful experience, negative image of Riga itself, stress, I also got cold because of this hours of running from one place to another, and my holidays were ruined because of an illness.
I wish I could add no stars and change the name of the hostel to Big BAD Hostel.response / report this review -

Although we had booked a room in this hostel when we arrived we were told insistently to go to this one instead giving very poor reasons. After arguing for a while we accepted as it looked as if we didn't have any other options.
It is true that we were paid taxies to move to the new location, but the other hostel turned out to be farther away from the city centre and in a rather unsafe area of the city.response / report this review -

My worst experience ever. Hotel found on Airbnb.
The picture are misleading. All the hostel looks like something unfinished
The welcoming is pathetic, the personal looks like junkie people. Most of the resident (not young people but more workers) looks like squatters. All this feels that you are into an unsafe place.
Also, the rooms are not clean, the walls are thin (you can heard all the noise - tv - smokers speaking - people cooking, people passing by and making floor shivere), the slats of my bed were broken, the mattress is foam. No blind on window.
The rules for the noise are not respected.
The showers and toilets are undersized (2 showers and 2 toilets for all the hostel). The breakfast is poor, you should get up early if you want a yogurt or an apple.
Moreover, i had to ask every morning a cup for the tea.
Last but not least : people have tried to enter in my room the first night.

Very good hostel, great price (price even includes breakfast; never experienced that in a hostel for this price) , last minute booking is possible. Good location from which one can visit all the hotspots of Riga. Colourful rooms, good wifi, and even a rent-a-bike service.

Good price, friendly staff, excellent location and a decent bed. My only fault with it is that the walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours every word. Still strongly recommended.
