I’ve made my way around Eastern and Western Europe. Stayed in my fair share of great hostels. Squirrel House is legitimately one of, if not the, best hostels I’ve stayed in. The location is great, beer is cheap, beds are clean, common room is spacious, the showers are clean, numerous, and big enough for two.

Above everything through the staff are astounding. Extremely kind, thoughtful, and professional about their work - they are by far - the most patient and helpful group of people operating a hostel of this size. They won their “Top 5 mid-sized hostels in the world” award for a reason.

If you are traveling across Northern or Eastern Europe, this place is a must.

Most sociable hostel I've ever been to. Great workers, fun guests, lots of activities, and it was shockingly quiet at night despite people being up and around the hostel 24 hours

One of the best hostels I ever stayed. From the first moment you enter you feel really welcomed. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are tidy and well equipped. Perfect place to meet people!

Really good hostel - good facilities, really helpful staff, and a really social atmosphere. They also helped us out with organising activities and making sure we saw the best of Riga. It was one of our group's birthday, and they were amazing with making it a special night for her. Would definitely stay here again if back in town.

Great Hostel for backpackers and party people.
First of all, you'll be greatet with a shot: 2 Points for hospitality.
The rooms are nice and mostly clean: 1 Point for rooms.
There's a kitchen and lots of room for other activites, like tiny table tennis and a foosball table: 3 Points for stuff to do.
The best part though, is the team. They treat you so welcoming and nice, you feel right at home. Also they do a lot of activities with the guest, like pub crawl, shooting range etc.: 8 Points for the team.

Stayed there for 2 nights. Just a great place for extroverts. Party never stops there, everyone is so friendly and open. And the good thing is that common room with a bar - and dorms are on different floors. Special thanks to Dana, admin, you are such a wonderful person. I wish i could sing Brainstorm with u again =)

This hostel quickly became one of my favs. The bar and common area is a little small but the staff is very helpful and friendly. Drinks are cheap and the location is perfect for getting to a bunch of other bars, the sights, and shopping.

I immediately felt at home once checkin into this hostel. They were friendly, gave some valuable advice about the city and hostel and as a welcome I had a shot from a well known Riga liquor producer!! That's what I call homely!
The showers have good water pressure and dorm rooms clean and spacious. There is really great security measures so you feel very safe in the hostel. I am really am unable to fault the hostel.

Im so happy to be at this place, as a tavek blogger i have so much to tell.

Great location
Friendly staff
Very very clean

The only thing would reccomend then to do is a bigger kitchen.
Well in ther hand its good, to let travelers to go and eat out. They can know more about the culture and meet locals.

So sad havent pics. Because my cellophone fall into the water.
